This is actually a Chinese slang and usually use to described a person who is really really weak. The correct one is " A weak, feeble person without even the strength to catch a chicken". But here she used "woman" to enhance her weaknesses. ^^
I think the correct translation should be without even the strength to tie up a chicken
This might be the moment empress became her big sister in Ying luo heart. If you look at her life from flashbacks from the moment she was born,she was persecuted by her father and society for her mother's death.
The only person who shielded and loved her was her big sister that's why she turned cold and ruthless to avenge her death.
But the way empress stood for her against the emperor and cherished her in every situation finally turned her back to former self.
This scene perfectly explains YingLuo's angst for the lost of her beloved sister. And the fact she was willing to die to for the chance of revenge shows her strength. And the quick way she flipped it on Prince He was brilliant.

because he confessed to want he had done earlier to her big sister. She is thinking he done it again taking back his words an promises. I thought when she said " She is her trusted aide". It mind me of Fuheng also the Emperor trusted side.. sweet Back then it was very hard to have one, without each other having and agenda, or trying to cut each other throats.

When I first watched this for a long while I was so confused ... I was wondering why Dowager Yu was being so evil to Yinglou when she just saved her and her child
They aren't related at all, Dowager Yu was a Consort to the current emperor's late father. At the point of becoming Concubine (rank before Consort, 4th rank down from empress), women in the harem are also given a title that is supposed to embody a good characteristic they possess, they could also be given the title much earlier. For example you have Xian Fei (Consort Xian), Chun Fei (Consort Chun) etc. The Dowager Yu and the current Yu just happen to have a similar title.
Noble Lady Yu is one of Emperor’s Concubines.
She is the mother of 5th Prince.
She surrendered her son to Ying Lou when she became Emperor’s concubine.
Dowager Yu, like you see... she is the mother of Prince He.
She is the one who killed Ying Lou’s sister (If I’m not wrong guessing).
Later on, she died by lightning strikes.
They are different persons. You can google it.
Tamaj Wright In Chinese, the Yu is written (and pounced) differently for these two women. As with all translations in any language, it is not possible to get the exact “tone” , but it’s close enough.
They're both different Yu. In Chinese we have different Chinese words that sounds the same or different tone. Dowager Yu (Prince He's mom) here is written as 裕 (pronounced as yu4, fourth tone), where as the Noble Lady Yu (emperor's concubine who gave birth to YongQi) is written as 愉 (pronounced as yu2, second tone). Both are written differently and they both have different meaning, just that they sound the same to most non Chinese.
They're many other words that sounds the same as both Yu, but yet written differently and has different meaning.
