I am glad that Mulder and Scully on the list but they should've been higher. X-files took a special place in my heart. But also surprised that Castle and Beckett (Castle) and Donna and Harvey (Suits) aren't on the list. Both couples in my opinion have great chemistry and they ended up together

One couple I’d like to mention, even though it was an animated series, and my favorite, is Fry and Leela from Futurama. For a while, they’re were always on again-off again and it was obvious they had strong feelings for each other, especially at the start of season 5 when they started going out and that’s also when they officially became a “will they/won’t they couple.” The show “ended” with Leela accepting Fry’s marriage proposal but they ended up being the last two beings on earth after they quite literally broke time and everything around them froze. But thanks to Futurama’s quirky science fiction they managed to fix it and go back in time to before it happened, which is where I “heard through the grapevine” the newest series is going to take place
I hadn’t even thought of them, since I was focused on live action couples, but you’re right! They definitely deserve a nod and mention!

My favorite show was Bones...and only one of 2 series that I have on DVD. Some of the shows on this list....I have not seen at all.....some others I have watched but not every episode.

Nope, Ross and Rachel are meant to be number one. They literally DEFINE the will they/wont they couple. If you ask someone who the ultimate will they/wont they couple is, 9 times out of 10 they will say Ross and Rachel
Yes I love friends but even if you asked someone who completely despises the show then they’d still say Ross and Rachel
And then probably Sam and Diane

Josh and Donna from The West Wing. They were obviously in love with each other, with amazing chemistry, since season 1, but they couldn't act on it until season 7.
Mulder and Scully should have been number one. I mean we still don't know if they are together, is it Mulder's baby, isn't it? How did it even come to be? Is it alien? And was Frohike really 57 when he died?

The Haven TV show, The Vampire diaries TV show’s Elena and Damon
I mean, two of three of these are actually romantic and inspiring to watch, yet the majority of these "will they or won't they?" tropes are so far-fetched, unrealistic, romanticized unhealthy love stories, including and especially Friends' Ross & Rachel story. That never-ending "clumsy dork wins over spoiled prom queen" fairytale. I do like both actors but once I saw how absurd even toxic many of those relationships get ... over seasons in which the writers had overdone and altered their own plotlines so many times that I genuinely stopped caring if those two "will or won't" end up together.
Yes I never liked "Friends" really at all even when it first came out in my teens to 20s. But I really did not like Ross and Rachel. I'd be more happy for the icon couple to be those that were not so horrible to each other and for each other. Example for me is like Nick and Jess they bring out the best in each other. Ross and Rachel are icon to me for the couple that should have never happened.

I’m pleasantly surprised that Jeff and Annie made the list! But also surprised that Fitzsimmons didn’t even make the honorable mentions…they were pretty much undecided for all of season 3 and even after they got together, we didn’t even know if both would survive the entire series! But the series finale was just such a treat because they got a happy ending 😁

I would have loved to see Barney and Robin as number 1 from How I met your mother but the stupid writers of that show ruined that.

Like I hate that the mother dies but that’s just because I love Cristin Miloti and the mother was great and her and Ted were perfect but the mother dying was the plan and it’s not bad story writing necessarily it’s just not what I wanted and even Robin and Ted ending up together isn’t necessarily bad and it was the plan
BUT! It was absolutely terrible that they immediately broke up Barney and Robin after building up their marriage and happy ending
And once again I don’t mind Barney learning to be better by having a daughter but he was meant to have become a better person through becoming a husband

I loved the chemistry and the 'will they/won't they' with Bones and Booth. Imo, the show went down hill at about season 6 when it was a definite 'will' because they started doing the whole 'I love you' thing on a regular basis and talking about moving in together. Then there's the kids they had, that they barely seemed to spend any time with.
I think it became too focused on their family instead of the crimes and forensics after that.

And there was barely any hurdles or suspense either and the both clearly liked each other from the moment we saw them
The only hurdle is Karen who is not much of a hurdle and doesn’t really make the situation difficult anyway and we know that Roy and Pam won’t last or that it’s a good situation from the beginning

So many to choose from but I would have included Scarecrow & Mrs. King (from the 1980's). It was so exciting when after many interruptions they finally kissed at the end of Season 3.
IT IS SO HARD TO FIND A SCARECROW AND MRS KING FAN!!!!! Agreed on waiting for them to get their acts together.
