Technically you are correct. Jon abdicated so Dany is the rightful queen. That said I don't recommend taking season 8 seriously. It is character breaking to multiple characters and nonsense in general. Daenerys actually is a good queen in GoT and for proof look at Meereen-slavery is over, the city has finally stabilized, the economy there was growing last we saw, and in season six Daenerys transitioned it to a democracy (or constitutional monarchy which is still much more freedom than people usually had in GoT).

Yes they portrayed Dany as being driven mad and mentally broken but Daenerys in earlier seasons of GoT showed she could go through suffering and stay sane. The writers also messed a bunch of other things up like Varys forgot that he knows how to be sneaky and cares about his own life. If he was going to betray Dany he would've had a plan to escape Dragonstone but that adds to the problem the writers made him decide to try to poison her with little to no reason-she had just been part of an effort to save Westeros from undead so he should be relatively happy with her so far. The writers also forgot that season 2 showed that bells in King's Landing do not mean surrender-and they showed this very clearly. There is evidence the city burning nonsense in season 8 was actually a change D and D decided to make after they had started making the seasons. The computer effects people were told to make the city burning scenes with wildfire and then later told to make them with "not wildfire" during the making of season 8. If most of the city burns due to wildfire that means it was not burning due to Dany's intent.

If the writers let the loving brother act "in character" the other brother would be fine or at least not having been shot as the loving brother would not have chosen to do that.
