@@Dubby522 Whelens aren’t loud from under them or from 50 feet. You gotta be at least a mile or more from them to really tell how loud they are. They carry REALLY good
@SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernIL that's true. I live about a mile away from a Vortex R4 with thundermod and it is very audible even with windows and doors closed. We had the OWS test yesterday. I could also hear Addison and Carrollton sirens. For FB that has 8 Whelen Vortex R4s, I could hear pretty much all sirens on the east side. There was one siren I heard that is a few miles away that I could also hear very well when it was pointed at me. There is a Vortex about 3-4 miles away that I could faintly hear when all other sirens were pointed away. The only sirens I couldn't hear I think were the 2 on Luna rd, and maybe the one at Brookhaven Club. Not sure if I heard an addison sirennor the one at abrookhaven College but their sound range is very good. The furthest Vortex away from me is about 6 - 8 miles iirc.

Tall tornado siren
This sounds like a denmark siren sound
As far as I’m aware it is the same tone.
@@emrilbennett8704 its a bit different, because this is a wail sound and in denmark its a long lowering sweep.
@@Dogappel ok thanks

@@mjt777x8 tf
What would you even call this type of siren sound?
Best possible protection tone
This is an denmark siren sound
A warbling wail aka “Best Possible Protection”
I think it sounds both creepy and neat.
How loud was it from where you were standing?
Not loud I recorded it
Oh right. There is a refinery in the UK that has one of these that I am going to film next year.
