Hi Dan farrow to finish producer along with row crops northeast Indiana .Enjoy watching and thinking how similar but different it is no matter where we raise our families on our family farms finding a balance to get it all done. Keep showing it and being real.
Hi. Dairy farmer from Ohio here. I have always had a passion for hogs too. My boys and I love following your videos. We would love to see some more videos working with sows/farrowing. Also I am intrigued by your feed mill and feed blowing system. We would love to hear more details about all of that. Also we see that you have a big round manure pit instead of pits under the barns. Would love to hear more about how your manure system works as well. If you ever make it to the Ohio area then look us up. We would love to meet your family and show you our dairy.
Hey Will! That's awesome, not many dairy guys around here venture into the pig business. I'll see what I can do for sow/mill/manure pit videos 👍 I'll keep that in mind we're always looking for farm tours when we're traveling. Thanks for reaching out!
Watching from Guelph, ON - originally from a swine farm in the Atwood area back in the early mid-80s; then went to Guelph to work for OMAF as a Livestock Tech until the mid 90s with the Swine Genetic (ROP) Evaluation program that divested to OSI. Today I work for the MNRF as an I&IT Project Manager - in a couple weeks it will be 40 years since the first day I drove from the farm to Guelph for my first day to train (farm visit to a swine farm in the Jarvis area) for the job using an ultrasound machine to measure fat thickness over the loin area. For the report to do the adjustments to 90 KGs we used a programable TI-59 calculator that was eventually replaced by a laptop computer (late 80s). Hence my path into I&IT over the years. During my time as a Swine Tech I had the opportunity to do farm calls in covering for other Swine Tech going all the way from Ridgetown through to London, Ingersoll (Duroc Breeder), Stratford and as far east as the Kingston area .
Just as a thought about the area where you were loading the pigs out of - what adding a plywood on each side to make like a "V" to narrow the area to the door.
Big Tim, south west Pa..............just a old guy who enjoys watching the farm videos, keeping the USA fed, Farmers some of the hardest workers in the country......🔴⚪🔵 btim
Greetings from Lacombe, Alberta. Appreciate the content, as there are not many family hog operations left. Having been involved in agriculture for 60 years, it's very interesting to see different crops and practices. FYI, I believe in miracles too. Keep up the excellent work. Blessings to you and your family.
