George Lynch was one of the premier guitarists of the 80's. The guy is respected by his peers and adored by his fans. Mr Scary is a George Lynch original. A beast of a song!

@travelthenarrowtrail8660 Fuck... whatever, boss. I guess the tactic of "context" is something you cannot grasp and have a need to "correct" people just for the sake of your incomprehension being so whacked.

It's not so much the hair/band lable as it was those "forced" ballads evey hair/band had to put out. Ruined their image. They had AWESOME rock. But, their ballads oh my word! So bad mostly. The record companies forced them into it. Sick.

This song and Record are what made me want to become a better Guitarist ! George Lynch is my Guru and hes still out there killing it . Just a Genius on Guitar . That Mr Scary performance looks like it was from the reunion period in the mid nineties, based on George's short hair and body builder appearance lol. Mr Scary was George's signature instrumental piece. George was actually in the running for joining Ozzy's band twice, but ultimately lost out to Randy Rhoads the first time, and Jake E. Lee the second time.

Very cool that you have done Dokken now. I'm honored to be the tipping vote to push Dokken forward. FYI the slow, melodic intro with the layers of guitars is actually a short instrumental called "Without Warning". The "Tooth and Nail" song actually starts with the thundering drum roll that kicks in. I was pleasantly surprised when you included Without Warning as part of the reaction since it is how the Tooth and Nail album starts off and is very melodic. I'm glad you liked "Mr. Scary" as well. There are actually some better live renditions but this one is okay too. I hope you can have time to hear some of George Lynch's (Dokken's guitarist) solo stuff. I have a birthday coming up in mid-May. I really want you to hear "I Will Remember" off George's solo album "Sacred Groove"". I requested it awhile back under the hash tag painintheask, but maybe I"ll submit it as a birthday request instead.

Interesting thing about George Lynch, he actually gave Warren De Martini lessons at Randy Rhodes school in CA. Later in time, it was Warren who helped George learn the parts of Randy Rhodes to join Ozzy. Then Warren played in Dokken when George was touring with Ozzy and was being promised the gig, when Brad Gillis from Night Ranger was going to leave Ozzy to do Night Ranger full time. However, Ozzy fired George and hired Jake E. Lee, who is also a good friend of George. When George left Ozzy, Jake E Lee left his then gig with Ratt, known then as MIckey Ratt. Jake called up Warren about the opportunity and he left Dokken and went to Ratt and George went back to Dokken. George has been trying for years to create an album with Warren, Jake and himself, but the hold out has been Warren. He says he calls Warren all the time and badgers him about it because Jake says he's in. That would be a monster project if it can happen. LA back then was a different place and all these bands hung together and came up together on the strip. What a time it was for music.

Hey guys! Fun fact: George loved to name his favorite guitars and "Mr. Scary" was a guitar he had that had been painted and beaten up so many times that it looked... well, scary. He wrote the song years later. Sadly, that's not it in the live video. He also used to build custom, hand-made guitars to your specs (I think he might have stopped it this point - he's 64). I ordered a guitar from him (about 15 years ago) and he actually called me twice to talk about the build. He was really nice on the phone and the guitar is incredible. Cheers.

Yes fabulous reaction and as someone has stated below this is melodic rock. These are technically the two best dokken songs not hit songs but best songs. Two of their hit songs are In my Dreams and Deam Warriors.Dream warriors is the title song from The nightmare on elm Street part 3 the song and video totally overshadowed the movie.

Dokken was my favorite band during the 80's. People tend to forget them which is unbelievable to me, even the hard rock stations rarely play them (at least where I live). They were good enough to be part of the Monsters of Rock tour with Metallica, Scorpions, and Van Halen. George Lynch is one of the all time greats on guitar and Don Dokken is awesome as well on vocals. Try listening to Unchain the Night, it's one of their earlier songs and my favorite of their's. Also for a slower song try Alone Again, my 2nd fave of theirs.

#metaldna. Today is my birthday. Love dokken and actually got to see them live in a really small venue in the 90s, up close and personal. My request, from the kings of prog rock. Rush- Tom Sawyer

I just started watching your guys reactions and I love it. I’ve been a fan of Dokken since I was a kid I’m 45 now and still a fan. George Lynch is a guitar god. Please review George Lynch Headbangers ball 2011 solo. You won’t be disappointed.
