The 24 player mod keeps on improving! During this session from a few days ago, we encountered some lag but recently, MrBean has found ways to remove a lot of the lag while beta testing :)

Troy I recommend you to do this challenge, but instead of starting one lap behind, you have to play with a very low-stats vehicle like the cursed runner or the jetsetter

Now you see one of the secrets of how Item Rain works: The rain follows the pack. It's not raining if nobody's in an area, and so hardly anything was landing where you were. It's also why you tend to see less items on the ground while frontrunning, since you're the first person to an area! Also, the item total has been vastly lowered in 24 player to try to keep the game playing at a semi-decent framerate. Doesn't work on all tracks, but works on quite a few decently enough!

@@sanjaysatoj4435 MrBean believes he could release 24 player mode later on, in some way, shape, or form (e.g. for Dolphin or Riivolution or BrainSlug), so it won't remain exclusive to CTGP. Now, to answer your question, the current version of CTGP can't support Dolphin for good reason:
- CTGP is a greatly popular mod, and if it were to start encouraging players to pirate the ISO of the original game, Nintendo could take down the whole project;
- CTGP's anti-cheat system (or sandbox) would be weakened if we allowed Dolphin, because Dolphin, unfortunately too, could be used to cheat;
- Because the time trial community has no tolerance against cheaters, it's been relying on CTGP's security and ghost database for years to have a reliable source for world record submissions. Same with CTWWs, clan wars, and mogis - some of them allow Dolphin while others are CTGP only.

I think the reason that there are less items on the ground is because there is an itemlimit. If there are 12 players in the room and the itemlimit is 30 for instance, 18 items can spawn on the ground at the same time. But when there are 24 players and the itemlimit is 30, only 6 items can spawn. (I dont know the actual item limit)

This could be wrong, but maybe the bulk of the items fall where the main pack of players are, and since you’re like half a lap behind for a lot of the race, not many items are falling near you

I think the lack of ground items is caused by your separation from the pack. It picks a random player to spawn an item near, so if you're on the other side of the map from everyone else, 23/24 items spawn by them instead of by you.
