- Even in 2021 this is such a beauty. What does which year it is have anything to do with musical quality? Mozart is still beautiful, thousand year old tribal chanting is still beautiful, regardless of which year it is.
This was the last Cirque show I got to see with my dad. Just hearing the music brings me back into the audience when I was 12 years old. I was blown away. We had seen several shows, but this one I remember vividly. Brings tears to my eyes remembering dad in this most beautiful way.
It so overwhelms me that I always feel like crying for a mixed feeling of joy and melancholy. I cannot perform any backflip or those skilful gymnastics. But I always wished I could and wished I were a part of the Cirque du Soleil!

Me too. It was 25 years ago for me though. To this day I am moved so emotionally just as I was when I first heard this song all those years ago. Was a hooked fan ever since. I had the pleasure of seeing Alegria live on Randall's Island, New York City on May 23, 2004. It was the 10 year anniversary tour, what a treat it was. I get chills every time I think about it. Now the 25th anniversary is upon us and the show will be returning from April 2019-May 2019 in Montreal. Whether they tour it after that is still uncertain. Hope they do, if not I may need to take the trip up to Montreal to see it once again!
I saw this show in 1994. It was recorded in Montreal on the docks of the Old Port in that huge circus tent. Amazing memories. Music was composed by René Dupéré and performed by Francesca Gagnon. Incredible voice she has. What a great sound, amazing electric guitar at the end.
I keep thinking "aren't there any limits to what they can do!?" This is amazing, and this song is so powerful. I listen to it whenever i feel like i can't do anything. It is truly inspiring.

Yes indeed. They for sure should be! I lose it completely when they come out at the end like that and stand there so proud and happy that they just got to entertain everyone watching. They gave it their best, poured all their hearts and souls into it. It is just pure emotion and elation so much so that I cannot stop the tears from rolling at the end there. This will always be my favorite show, my favorite music and my favorite set of performers. Thank you Cirque Du Soleil for these wonderful memories.

I travelled over 800 km across the entire country to see them. And it was well worth it! The show ended with a standing ovation, as usual, I presume. And people had tears in their eyes. Also as usual. I'll never forget it. Will travel even twice the distance if they ever come to my country again.

I saw maybe 6 Cirque shows. Alegria is IMHO the best. Rene Dupere is a genius, and Francesca Gagnon is perfect.
I always get emotional at these shows and I don't know why... I guess it's just the beauty and art; it's just overwhelming.
