- Russian forces have almost captured the key city of Severodonetsk, a senior Ukrainian official said.
Capturing the city has been a top military goal for Russia and a key battle ground in the fight in the Donbas region.
Thousands of civilians are trapped with many of them sheltering in bunkers beneath the city's Azot chemical plant and essential supplies are running out, the United Nations has warned.

Ukraines industry is being buffed up by the west, which has dwarfed Russia for decades, thanks to corruption under the Soviets and now, under Putin.
Meantime that Ukraines only concern are bodies, of which it has a few million men in the best fighting age. It is taking heavy losses but Russian losses are rising faster than Ukraines and the issue is that Russia is loosing experience and superior equipment faster than it can replace it.
How do we know that? Because history teaches us how successful campaigns look. This looks like Iran vs Iraq, not vs little Ukraine vs big Russia, it looks like a near even fight. That Ukraine isn’t being crushed shows that your arguments are false. Because Russias normal standing army should, according to you, have crushed Ukraine with ease. But for weeks, nothing of this sort has happened. Russia even had to shorten the frontline significantly.
Also, it’s pretty amusing to say that the Ukrainians, which have successfully fought a conventional war for more than 100 days against the self declared second most powerful military superpower of the planet, are the cowards. In David vs Goliath, David can hardly qualify as a coward.
Lie as much as you want, this war won’t be over by Christmas and this will prove beyond any doubt that Russia is far weaker than it would like the world to believe.

There are no civilians "trapped" in the Azot factory, unless Ukraine is holding them hostage. Russia gave everyone ample opportunity to leave in safety, but few took advantage of that opportunity. The blood is on Ukraine's hands, and specifically, on Zelenskyy's hands.
