I'm a huge ancient history nerd. Loved this video so much bro. Greece is definitely on my list of places I want to travel to. Just a shame they use the Euro. lol As always. Great quality video Chris. Stay safe bro. 🤙
Parthenon fun fact: The Parthenon was built with subtle architectural tweaks to look perfect to the human eye. The columns are slightly curved (entasis) to avoid looking bowed, and the base is slightly curved upwards to prevent it from appearing to sag. The columns also lean inward slightly to correct the illusion of leaning outwards. These adjustments make the Parthenon appear perfectly straight and symmetrical. The ancient Greeks were next level.
If you are still in Greece I suggest a visit to the ancient city of Korinth and it's archeological site and most definetely on its Acropolis ontop of the huge hill it lies by the ancient city. The view from there is many kilometers away and it's just breathtaking.
All those people in the line was waiting to see you Chris. News travel fast 🤩The history is awsome. Culture and great architecture is something I def appriciate. Thank you for existing Chris and doin what you love and taking us with you on your journeys. I prefer these videos more than the massage parlor videos from south east Asia. So its nice with a nice mix. Thanks once again & may you have a blessed day❤️
You should come to Athens during Christmas 🎄. You will be amazed! And, Chris, next time you're here, don't miss Delphi and Vergina, where Phillipos' ( Alexander's father) Macedonian tombs are.
Princess Grace once asked Manolis Chiotis what instrument was he playing to which he replied the bouzouki. She commented that it's played similar to the guitar - Chiotis replied "with the difference being the guitar is attached to electricity whilst the bouzouki is attached to ones soul".
Your vidéos are awesome! I have been watching some vidéos to help prépare My trip and I finally found that, you are the best! Nice , clear, not for show you up but show us the places. I love that you are amazed of everything, that you show us the real life, that you talk to people and I love your vibe and energy! Keep the good work as you enjoy all of the world 😊
Good video. Sightseeing, souvenir market and food videos are very informative and entertaining. ❤❤❤. Eagerly waiting for the 🇱🇰 videos. Best wishes from 🇨🇦. Hopefully we see Gladys in those videos.🎉
Love from the UK Chris can’t wait for you to come here are you coming to London? I watch your videos all the time and you are dedicated and a great vlogger stay safe !!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have just started wathcing your videos, so far i have enjoyed all of them, seriously do not know how you kept your cool in Egypt with all the people trying to scam you, i unfortuately would not have been so tolerant!! Hats off to you for visiting solo , again i would not have the confidence to do so
Best time to visit Parthenon is a few hours before sunset We have gone many times no line not alot of people. I'm talking leak season we went last August
13:10 This big rock with the nice view was Areios Pagos (dedicated to the God Aris / Mars for Latins). The assemblies of the people and the votes were held there and of course it is the place where the Apostle Paul spoke to the Athenians.
The first, MODERN Olympic Games! The original Olympic Games took place in Olympia, Greece, which is on the Peloponnesus. It’s the Panathiniako Stadium.
I wonder if you had visited the permanent exhibition/museum about the Olympic games which is under the sitting area of the panathenaic stadium or if you had missed it.
I am going to disappoint you but the musician isn't even playing Byzantine music or rthymns but it sounds more of south American music maybe Bolivian or even Chilean music. Definetely not Greek music though.
i think the pipe musician is from equador or Peru.... not greek... the bouzouki music player and wife are playing freek music. i thinkit is called a bouzouki... i think the turks stored their ammunition in the Parthenon and it exploded. at some point the greeks numbered the rubble and are putting it back together...you did polykalo
Some years ago, some store owners would take the piss with the price of water - overcharging tourists who are already used to high water prices. The law changed to tackle this. Now, water is 1 euro per litre, everywhere. As it should be!
Finally got nack to watching this, its funny to me all the typical tourists who flock places, because its tourism etc. Yeah its cool to see and take pictures etc but the "typical" tourists seem to be a different type of people. I only seen the few last athens videos from this, and I wouldn't consider you that "typical tourist". I always was into greek history as a kid probably from playing my grandpas age of empires rise of rome PC game, then of course the Percy Jackson and the Olympians novels. Loved learning about it in school too.
Can you imagine living in that era 500 b.c. in its glory must have been really incredible sight
Yeah that would've had to have been wild!
Grew up literally 20min away from these glorious rocks…countless memories. Hope u enjoyed it mate🙌 🇬🇷 ❤
Man such a great city that you grew up in! The nightlife is soooo good! Had a great time bro, maybe next time I'll catch you there!
Timmy making history on a Darien gap🚀
Kalimera from Greece..Welcome to one of the most historical cities on the planet..(the traditional instrument you called Greek guitar is Bouzouki)
The Greek guitar is the bouzouki. I love Greece, the people, the culture, the food! So stunning, man what those ‘ruins’ have seen!
I was in Athens 10 years ago. Love it!😃😃😀😃. Can’t wait to go back. OPA!!😀
Yes!! Such a cool place!
That stadium is impresive
Yes it is!!!
I love the history side of these beautiful cities. That's what makes them so important and the reason we can visit these beautiful places.
I really enjoy seeing these great historical sites. Please keep showing us.

Gotta love that traditional Greek music straight from the Andean mountains of either Bolivia or Peru 😂
