Thank you Lilly, very interesting video. The fact that you do this not for the money but for the interest of your viewers, to explain your own passion is why we all keep on watching you. It certainly does seem hypocritical that You-Tube happily make money from advertising on your work, but won't share it.
I got my own bow when I was nine, 1956. I also went hunting with it. It wasn't long after that I started shouting my mothers 35lb recurve and my fathers 45lb recurve. These days I own a 35lb and 45lb recurve, take down with sights. And a compound set at about 40lbs.
My 15 year old niece took up archery as a result of watching The Hunger Games, which is PG-13. I did archery at 10 in Boy Scouts. TH-cam is ridiculous. Maybe do a video on Nerf bows and see what they do.
Guess what Huger Games is what they have planned for us. You idiot you paid to see what they have planned for us. I hope you liked the movie because you are going to live it. Idiot.
Growing up I shot some cheap fiberglass recurves and compounds came on the scene. I started with a cheap compound and cedar arrows I could get at Woolworths for $5 a piece. Then I graduated to a Bear white tail hunter that I owned for about 20 years. Easton aluminum arrows were what was the rage back then. I had the fishing rig wit a Zebco reel bolted on. I took many alligator gars with it. The last bow compound owned was a Browning about six years ago. Now I am full circle with a Samick recurve. I love it. I got some Carbon express arrows with a 250 spine and Zwickey eskilites. I think I could take just about any animal with it.
Thanks for the video. I took a break from archery after a shoulder injury. My shoulder has fully recovered and now I am ready to start back shooting. I miss target practice in the woods and the friendly competitions with my friends.
I've always been intrigued about archery. I've played with them here and there so i went and ordered one online and now all i need is a proper target so i can go and have some fun. There is an archery club in the city i live in and im thinking about checking them out.
Hey Lilly you should watch The Push archery, it is a two hour long archery film on longbows and recurves. He goes over multiple different ways to aim a recurve other than instinctive, there is one type of aiming he goes over called the fixed crawl, and it increased my accuracy immensely, especially at longer distances.
Very interesting. You're right. Archery is a great sport. There were classes for us kids at the local Rec Centre. Everyone wanted to learn how to be Robin Hood. And, it's nice to see your canine companion.
Pretty nice assortment of bows. I like wooden bows the best - they are more evocative of the origins of archery, IMO. For hunting or competition, I'd be okay with glassed over carbon fiber compound bow. There's something to be said for the simplicity of a long bow. Its ages-old organic design served humanity well for thousands of years and still serves. Cheers.
with regards to the righteous shot bow, it's rated 42lbs @ 27" factory standard bows are rated at 28" so that might be why you feel it heavier since at 28" it would be closer to 44 or 45 lbs. without a bow scale, you'll never be sure.
This is what I was thinking. A custom bow is measured at the ordered draw length, not the standard 28". I also think the Chinese manufacturers measure draw length from the back of the riser when they measure draw weight instead of the grip(Both my Mandarin Duck bows, and my Han "horse" bow measure 3lb under @28" and bang on @29").. If Lily only draws her 40(37?)lb Black Hunter to 27", she probably has 37/38(34/35?)lb OTF as her "max". actual 42lb OTF is +4/5(7/8?)lb and quite a step up. Possible with frequent practice, but I can see why she thinks it's so much heavier.
@Kenny H The fact that you people need so many guns means that you are indoctrinated. A useful tool turned in to a fashion accessory and family past time activity. Guns are such a important part of the culture that makes you wonder how this happened. But i know the answer, it's because of unregulated capitalism which permitted companies to oversaturate the market, then you let them peddle their wares in new different ways. Like those pink guns for little girls or scare tactics against women to make them buy guns too, well, because it's an untapped stream of income. I'm not saying that people shouldn't buy what they want but i'm definitely against manipulation, against aggressive marketing that influences people's emotions to sell products, for money. Nowadays companies focus and spend more on marketing than on product quality. You don't buy a useful thing that you need but you buy an idea, one that makes you feel good. So you see, we are cattle. But we were talking about censorship and that includes what happened to Snowden also. Whistleblowing shouldn't be illegal in any circumstance because it's pointing to the rotting parts that we should try to remove from our societies. We all need systems and laws that should permit people to point out the issues they are seeing without any fear of repercussion. Because we can't fix something we are not aware of. "If it is not right do not do it, if it is not true do not say it." The opposite applies also... People shouldn't be punished for saying the truth or doing the right thing no matter the reasoning. So from this perspective, where you are free to do anything unless it disturbs the ones in power, you are censored. And it's not some foreign power doing that, it's your own system.

TH-cam AI, read my comment and send it to a staff: restricting an archery video is crazy. Stop doing that. Archery is a fun, children-friendly sport that can be enjoyed by everyone. If this kind of stupid role goes on, I am not going to pay for youtube red, period.
Hi Lily! I love your videos and your English is pretty much perfect. The one thing I noticed today was that you describe your dog as 'the dog of my aunt'. I trained as an ESOL teacher, which is English for speakers of other languages. In English we say, 'My aunt's dog'. Similarly we would say, 'My friend's bow' or 'My sister's bag'. When you use 's it shows that the item belongs to that person. I hope you don't mind me pointing that out. xx
Unreal! I started to take my daughter to archery range when she was 8, and there are lot of young kids there learning archery. what is the problem?! If TH-cam restricts archery, then they better do the same for all the first person shooter games as well. Where is the end?
Love your videos! Very instructive and easy to understand .I have watched many videos trying to get back into instinctive shooting. Your information helped me the most. My shot groups have improved. You have real teaching talent. Thank You.
they still have archery classes in school here in the states. Archery installs discipline and patients and also gets the kids outside and away from the violent video games. Which is worse? but the pay full for video games.
Yeah, it's crazy. I was driving through a residential are in town a few years ago. A guy was shooting his bow and arrows into a bale of hay in his yard practicing for hunting season. A cop was there investigating.
without any prior experience, i tried to pull a 90 lb bow and immediately pulled a muscle in my shoulder which bothered me for months. love your channel.
2 things: 1) Set your camera on a tripod when you're talking about the bows so one can have a proper perspective of all of them, otherwise there is too much movement. 2) Teach your adorable puppy how to shoot a bow and give her some attention when you're shooting. She's so eager to go after the arrows...Very cute. oh, one more...3) Very nice shooting !! and I had to add this: 4) 40 pounds of draw weight is a heavy weight for many especially for women. Great shooting with that bow !!!
Nice bow collection Lilly! Archery is a wonderful ancient sport enjoyed by many. I have had many bow's, recurve and longbows. Love the romance of the woods used in them and many are works of art. Modern tools and wood choices of today allow for some beautifully designed traditional bow's but also very pricey. Thanks for posting.

I've been using a bow as long as I can remember. My son loves it. And I agree 💯 percent. Everyone should get out and learn. The world would be a better place. If we put more value on outdoors and the use of bows.
Very nice and informative video! I’m 17. I got into archery when I was 16. As I live in Brazil, it’s harder to find bow shops, so I bought my bow on the Internet, and, as I didn’t understand a lot about bows, I chose a 40 pound compound bow. It was hard to find a good shooting technique in the beginning. But now I’m finally very good at it and I would like very much to own a recurve bow. Thank you a lot for this video!
besides shooting them it is always exciting tuning and accessorizing the bow to make it truly yours and capable for type of archery you have in mind for them.

Hi Lily. Looking forward to watching this vid. Good thing I'm 18+52 years old. I guess, like everything else, if you want to avoid bullshit, it's easy enough to do. Just stay away. TH-cam can't function without viewers. Time to start looking for alternatives. OK, now that I've watched the vid, nice bows and nice shooting. I have a similar target, but the center on at least one side is completely shot out. I can't use the center for compound bows because the arrows sail right on through. I'm good enough now, though, that I can shoot at the smaller peripheral dots to extend the life the whole target. They run a bit over $100 in my area. Recently I had to lay off shooting for 6-8 weeks because of some chest surgery, but in a week or so I'll get back to it. I have taken a few shots, and instead of my typical 40 pounder, I find that I've had to go back to my 20 pound PSE Razorback, which is a wonderful economical and fun bow. I have a couple of the Nomad horse bows that are fun to shoot, and a fancier but still economical ILS Olympic style target bow that is accurate but very noisy. Actually, two of my favorite bows are "kids'" bows. I think one is made by Bear and the other maybe by Samick. They are very short, maybe only 40-42", extremely light and compact, but very high quality mini-versions of full-size adult bows. They are real wood and fiberglass recurve bows, and not the silly fake compound bows or the cheap completely fiberglass kids' bows you usually see. They are 30-35 pound pull and lethal enough. Happy shooting.
I have a Samick Sage which is very nice. The handle is nicely rounded. Some other bows I looked at had a ridge in the wrong place. I strongly recommend using a mechanical release.
Hello Lilly, I was wondering if you have ever made a recurve bow from PVC pipe? It may sound a little wierd but it is not at all, PVC is an incredible material. I made one a few years ago with a draw weight of 80 lbs and the thing was a monster. I mention it because it is a simple project that would come in handy in a SHTF scenario. The bow limbs where formed in a cheap and dirty wooden mold. The PVC pipe cost me 3 Euro. I then made arrows from hollow fiber-glass tubing you can find in many hardware stores. These things were deadly and accurate. Think about it.
Very good, I like to say my daughter took archery lessons among other sports but they enjoyed this at 8 years old and my son at 11. I think is a fine sport and for hunters alike.
The red one you started with and the blue one in the middle i like. They are all very nice of course but those two i like. I like the sleek black one too. 👍🏻🏴
When recomending the poundage of the first bow for beginners I use to say to them - archery is not wrestling when it is important to find out which one is stronger and who is going to win. You shouldn't be owerbowed. I really was surprised to see Falco bow at your selection! These were the first bows we started to sell at our shop: Legend, Spirit, Trophy, Robin and of course Twin.
Really nice dog.... oh, and of course bows. Dog trainer and competitive 3d archer here. But I own just two bows at the moment. They are both custom bows, so I can't afford to keep my old bows, I had to sell them all. So, dogs and archery, we definitely could talk about something, even if I don't know much about survival in the woods (but I'm very interested to learn more). Interesting channel! Best wishes from me!
Lilly I really love your archery vids. I hope to be able to ask you questions as I progress in the sport. I used to shoot years ago, just getting back into it
Survival Lilly, always have enjoyed you videos. I also love archery and have owned more than sixty bows, not including compound bows. Can't do compound archery very much because they feel dead in my hands and they don't tell me a story. A stick bow has a story to tell me when I hold it. I know that sounds like a lot but I built, from scratch, my first bow in 1969. Shot my first whitetail deer with it in 1972. My mother got a bow for me in about 1962 or 63, this is when I first fell in love with archery. I still have and shoot that bow I built in 1969. I would like to encourage you to try using a one piece bow. They're lighter and I believe they tell their story more easily. Listen to your equipment, if you allow them to speak with you they will. Love all your video's.
Thanks for sharing your bows great to see. Nicely made quiver 😀🎯. I use to have a Manderin Duck bow, I decided to buy one after seeing your review on them. But unfortunately my home got broken into back in July and black hunter 30Ibs bow and other equipment I bought from Manderin Duck was taken. But never mind these things happen. Haven't had a chance to get back into archery since because of health reasons. But I'm hoping next year I will. Thanks for sharing great content💚

Nice collection I have an old 55# which I just recently took out again, made up a target and shooting about 10 meters in my courtyard which is 14 meters long, very strong bow even though I am still strong at 67 years old this year it is definitely hard to hold very long on pull back but it's an amazing beautiful one piece hunting re-curve bow made in about 1960 it called a Bear Kodiak Magnum dark green glass laminated with wood grain.Anyway love your videos cheers from down under.
I would Highly recommend trying to make your next bow a one piece re-curve if you could. After using bows made with risers for a while I tried a once piece and it actually feels incredible. I can't even say exactly what it is about it but it seems to have improved my archery quite a bit in form, speed and accuracy. The release just feels much more smooth for some reason. But it could also be because of the sheer increase in quality of my once piece vs my earlier bows.

Thank you Lilly, very interesting video. The fact that you do this not for the money but for the interest of your viewers, to explain your own passion is why we all keep on watching you. It certainly does seem hypocritical that You-Tube happily make money from advertising on your work, but won't share it.
Love your videos, thank you. I have practiced archery with my boys since they were 7 years old. 18 years old is flat out ridiculous.
@Eugene Stoner lol. Funny

Really nice collection. I wish youtube's CEO wasn't so inept. Keep doing what you love Lilly.
Thanks for the video. I took a break from archery after a shoulder injury. My shoulder has fully recovered and now I am ready to start back shooting. I miss target practice in the woods and the friendly competitions with my friends.
Nice collection, so this is why you kicked my a$$ in the competition!
Thanks for all the great content. Stay safe out there
Hahaha you are pretty good Canadian Prepper. If you'd practice just a little more you would easily beat me for sure :)
My middle son Malcolm (13 years old) loves archery and I was at a loss as to what to get him to support his newfound hobby, thank you so much
4:47 Lilly: "I don't have correct arrows for this one."
5:04 Also Lilly: *shoots the bullseye with incorrect arrow*
Is it just me or is everyone else sooo thankfull that she left the links to her kit.
Bowmaker: here's your custom made bow.
Lilly: isn't it too strong for me?
Bowmaker: don't worry, you'll grow into it
Very nice collection of bows Lilly. Your shooting form seems effortless! Yeah. I'm jealous!
Great Video. You're pretty strong if you can draw up to 40-50 pound weight. Amazing!
Not trying to flex or anything but I pull 60 something on my bow and I can pretty easily pull back my dads that is 70 something
And I’m 14
Lmao
If she does dumbbell rows . She can increase he strength and pull a stronger bow !
@@lucasreineke6395 very nice. I pull a 62lb.
Cheers.
with regards to the righteous shot bow, it's rated 42lbs @ 27"
factory standard bows are rated at 28" so that might be why you feel it heavier since at 28" it would be closer to 44 or 45 lbs. without a bow scale, you'll never be sure.
I don't like censorship, it is unAmerican!😎
If that would be true Snowden wouldn't be in Russia right now...

The last custom bow is really beautiful, like piece of art. Although the pricing that bow is awesome piece.
TH-cam has gone crazy... They teach archery in high school gym class. Pretty sure we were all under 18-years-old then. :D Great collection Lilly.
I agree with you our tree is a familysport that all ages can enjoy not only that but it keeps a lot of kids off of the streets 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I guess a weapon is a weapon to TH-cam, what an ignorant policy
@@patriott3087 star of david can be thrown too
TH-cam monetization has always been a total dumpster fire. Archery is just another example of the madness.
But the problem is that anything can be a weapon. I could use my hands as a weapon, but they don’t restrict hands, do they?
Thing is a bow isnt even a weapon legally. A weapon is a device that can store energy without the users manipulation and release it when a mechanism is triggered. A bow can store energy, but only with the users input so its not considered a weapon

HELLO AGAIN LILLY ! IM ENJOYING YOUR VIDEOS ! IM USING MY 30lb BEAR RECURVE. I GOT IT FOR $8 AT A THRIFT STORE. IM LOVING IT, AND ARCHERY IN GENERAL !!! IVE GOT SO MUCH TO LEARN, ITS GONNA BE FUN. THANKS FOR YOUR VIDEOS !!!
Lilly you need to get a Joerg Sprave magazine bow.
let me show you its features HAHAHA
Lilly,
There is an EZV compound bow sight that works much better than the pin sights, and, you can set it up with or without peep sight. I encourage to to check it out as it is very intuitive in use...
Pretty sweet collection!
Bonjour Lilly. I really like your bows, especially those made of wood.
I had bought, to start, a first wooden bow with 45 pounds but I quickly returned to 30 pounds. But I just bought a Salinda Black stone of 35 pounds and I think I could have 40 pounds soon. But I'm already looking at pretty wooden bows that look like your last one. Merci pour cette vidéo
TH-cam AI, read my comment and send it to a staff: restricting an archery video is crazy. Stop doing that. Archery is a fun, children-friendly sport that can be enjoyed by everyone. If this kind of stupid role goes on, I am not going to pay for youtube red, period.
You are correct, archery is a great sport. You're videos are informative and entertaining.
Over 18 are they kidding me the Boy Scouts n the Girl Scouts shoot bows really ? There not cracking down there cracking up
so there’s always that
Love your bows especially the custom one, signed by the bow maker is a nice touch, you are great shooter too ❤️
Archery restricted??? I can’t even believe I’m saying that. That’s horrible! Love your videos!!
Love your videos! Very instructive and easy to understand .I have watched many videos trying to get back into instinctive shooting. Your information helped me the most. My shot groups have improved. You have real teaching talent. Thank You.
Hell...we had archery classes/lessons when I was in middle school!
they still have archery classes in school here in the states.
Hey Lilly happy Thanksgiving love you girl from Sonny in the USA Tennessee prepper 101,❤️🙏😇🏹🇺🇸👍🎉🎊🔪
I just bought that black hole target and I have to say it's hard to beat for the price. It's a phenomenal target cube.
If I shoot with my glasses on, they fly as fast as the arrow
2 things: 1) Set your camera on a tripod when you're talking about the bows so one can have a proper perspective of all of them, otherwise there is too much movement.
2) Teach your adorable puppy how to shoot a bow and give her some attention when you're shooting. She's so eager to go after the arrows...Very cute.
oh, one more...3) Very nice shooting !! and I had to add this: 4) 40 pounds of draw weight is a heavy weight for many especially for women. Great shooting with that bow !!!
I only have a compound bow. I’m left handed. ☺️❤️

Nice bows Lilly .....I have a collection of my own too and they are all vintage recurves from the 1950's to the 1970's ....and are daily shooters ......Bear , Dan Pearson , Indian , etc. love all the wood grain they are a true work of art ....
I couldn't stop watching the dog in the background! He is so funny and cute!
besides shooting them it is always exciting tuning and accessorizing the bow to make it truly yours and capable for type of archery you have in mind for them.

Lily! Love your reviews! Very honest and up front! The doggy is a huge plus! Lol! Id believe anything you say! As always ...Thank you!
I love how your dog reacts/gets excited when you shoot. My dog does the same! Good run down. Thanks!
Go Lili! Archery is an Art, for everyone to know... North America are nuts! Awesome video.
I am seriously considering getting a bow you've convinced me maybe I'm not too old yet to learn.
You’re not too old. It is a fun sport. Make sure to buy the arm guard (string burns hurt).
Thank you very much , you made my day, I was so happy to see you sling some arrows, it was also nice to see your collection. Thank you again.
Eine schoenes video mal wieder Lilly! Danke dir! 👍😁
It's so funny to me how the dog reacts to you shooting the bow. "Hooman is doing something weird again" ^^ 7:27

Good job...I have been shooting bows since I was 5 or 6..and I still love shooting them..
Thanks for all the info on your bow collection... Such a well behaved dog. : )))
