closer did in fact devastated me in the best way possible. i really love how awsten touched on the difference in reactions to things when you are around overs versus being alone. when i was listening to intellectual property i had so many “holy shit” moments cause i was so blow away by the lyrics, the first listen wouldn’t have been as special if i didn’t take the time to just sit by myself and listen.

I have to agree with you, especially on closer. The part toward the end with the very intimate vocals breaking as he said closer really hit me. Felt like he was crying as he sang it, pouring emotion into the song. At least, that’s what I sound like when I’m singing along to a good sad song and I get a little choked up. Have a good night :)

Awsten starts a sentence, pauses midway with a "like", and then completely changes the sentence and says "you know what I mean?" at the end lol

god I'm so glad they asked about if this is the ending. it definitely feels like a and-that's-it mic drop. I am going to embrace this last era so hard in case it really is it.

This is maybe my favourite album in the entire world actually. Love hearing about the inspiration for everything from the album art and the title to the last moments of it. I have no idea what's in store for waterparks in the future but let me just say - I FELT that mic drop.

He’s right, a good song should be able to be played on just acoustic even if it’s not a song with many guitars in it.

lmfao he has such chaotic energy, but he's a musical genius for sure

@@HannaSis I’m struggling to see that I guess. I personally don’t see too much creativity in his music or his lyrics. Especially not his lyrics. I think he feels he’s got more to say than he actually does, but again just my opinion lol

    • @HannaSis

@@PrisonMike-_- I really think that Fandom and Greatest Hits are more representative of his creativity. A lot of what he’s written has been done with the purpose to sound mundane or surface level, but with deeper analysis, some really deep messages are revealed. An example of this can be seen in the song “ I miss Having Sex But At Least I Don’t Wanna Die Anymore” if you read the lyrical analysis on genius (or even watch the Fandom interview about the album on the Zach Sang Show) you can see how much thought is put into the songs. Awsten just has ADHD so he gets a little cuckoo in his interviews 😂

@@PrisonMike-_- listen to greatest hits, fandom, etc. he’s been making music for 10+ years and he’s really talented. his music videos are so cool too

I love waterparks but I lowkey agree that some of the stuff he makes are questionable. I understand he has a meaning for everything but it doesnt always mean that its the best idea ever lol. The frog metaphor is amazing though not gonna lie but I still think it couldve been done more creatively visually than just a clipart cutout of a frog on a red background. Also adding a bunch of nonsense to music doesnt necessarily make it good, but definitely interesting! I really dont like some of his silly lyrics, they make me cringe and i cannot take it serious. But I still really like about 85% of their music a lot and consider them to be one of my favorite bands!
