Which classification of Riesling is your favorite?

There is nothing that I love more than a great off-dry Mosel Kabinett. But as a Canadian, you can get great comparable wines for great values!

I have all but forgotten about Riesling and the importance of it - only favoring very dry wines. Will correct that soon.

I used to be biased against Riesling, and enrolling into wine education finally broke my biasand made me comletely reasses how I look at it.

I'm really enjoying your videos. Great coverage on wine tasting, variety and know how. If you can make one video concisely comparing different varieties of wines, it would be really appreciated. I know you have separate videos on each but one side by side comparison is much sought after 😊

      Hi there,
I'm not exactly sure what you're saying.
Would you like me to make a video with all 18 noble grapes and compare them?
      or maybe .......
2 videos comparing the 9 whites and then a separate video of the 9 reds?
Also, be on the lookout (probably for the holiday season) fo my refrigerator magnet with all 19 Noble grapes on it. It will go from lights to darkest, have the tannin level, taste profile and some food pairings.
      Cheers!!
      Pierre

@@AstiWines Hey Pierre, I assume he simply wanted to provide the idea of making videos in which you compare 2--4 different grapes concerning their characteristics :)
      Cheers

Hey Ben B..... Thanks for the insight regarding cs cs.
Just wanted to make sure you all saw my previous "reply".
Also, I have several videos that compare the same grapes from different regions of the world. And have several videos coming out that compare "Old World Wines Vs New World Wine; Which is better?" and "Bordeaux Wines and Grapes vs Burgundy Wines and Grapes; Which is Better?". PLUS the Refrigerator Magnet.
Are there certain grapes/wines you would like me to compare?
Would love to do this!! Great idea ..... we're thinking along the same line!!
      Cheers!!!
      Pierre

@@AstiWines Hey Pierre, I just discovered your channel a couple of days ago and have slowly been catching up with it. But there are still many videos to be watched. Concerning grapes, so far I have just watched videos in which you talk about one specific grape and give extensive details about it, which by the way, is an AMAZING format too! So, of course, another format could be to compare similar red or white grapes or even those who are not so similar with regards to their typical characteristics and how they distinguish from one another (e.g compare Cabernet with Merlot). The same can be applied to talk about merely ONE grape but here, you could particularly focus on talking extensively about regional differences :) (e.g compare a Shiraz from Australia with a Shiraz from South Africa etc.)
I hope this helped you. Thanks for having this channel by the way. I absolutely love it! Even for us young folks in our 20s your videos are absolutely enjoyable! :)
      Cheers
      Ben

I live in Germany and I have never once seen a Riesling under 10%; and even that is rare. The majority of German Rieslings at in the 10.5-12.5 level. Not sure what watered down mess they are portraying as “German” Riesling in the US

There much more of them. When you are talking about the world you have to understand that there is another world not only the west world you are talking, and that part of the world is making wine thousands of years before the western world even exists.

      Thank you!!
      You're right!!
Actually, one of the things I focus on and will continue to focus on is recommending to my Posse to explore wines from across the world. Step away from California and try other wines. That's a part of the Noble Grape emphasis.... many of the noble grapes are not grown in the West and people don't know about them. They're fantastic!!
      Again, thank you!!
      Cheers!!
