USC shot 65% from the field and outrebounded Iowa by 17--driving layups with no resistance and uncontested 3's. Dembele plays hard, but has zero offense. Can Tadjo contribute less? The zone was atrocious and looked like Iowa had 3 defenders instead of 5 on the floor. Tremendous game by Freeman and Thelwell late in the game. There is no post option when Freeman goes out and that typically is the catalyst for these huge runs opponents go on.
I 100% fell asleep. Last I remember we were down 14-16 with like 10 minutes left. I knew it wasn’t going to be a game the MINUTE they came out without the defensive energy/spark.
Also, you won’t win many games when your opponent makes over 60% of their shots. Whether that is lack of defense or a hot shooting night or both….not a good look for us.
