    I returned and found a cross mark through some of my previous comment. I do not know how that got there, but please know the OL is now STET, so read it anyway. I love these discussions, and they are the highlight of each day.I try to make it everyday. It is more than trying. It is this desire to want this happiness to radiate in my own life. I am so profoundly moved by the SF. I thank God for the SF crew. I intended earlier to reiterate what Curtis said about joy. Essentially, if we are to strive with what is Heavenly, to seek it despite the attacks from hell, we must examine ourselves and see if the joy we get is truly Heavenly. As Curtis discusses in this video, if we get joy out of taking from others what is theirs, that is hellish joy. That sort of joy cannot breathe in an atmosphere of mutual love, loving that your neighbor is doing well and is safe. Another thing Curtis says is that if your joy comes out of feeling superior to others, that too is hellish. If we are going to obtain a Heavenly mindset, we must seek the joy associated with it, which is not selfish, arrogant, unkind, cunning, etc. This effort takes the willingness to become conscious of what we are doing, how we are doing it and where we are going. These videos are, I believe, a way that God works through the SF. The SF is like a scrub brush reaching out of the foot of Heaven and washing the nasty that crawled up into our noggins. Then, this somehow makes its way into our hearts, roots itself there. After a while instead of feeling like we have to wave an emotional whip at the hellish things slithering by us daily, we just step around them, over them, or we cease to notice it. But because we notice the person or people puppeted by evil, we look for the good in them to meet us a bit closer towards those things that are good and true.

      So well said, H S, I really appreciate hearing your take on things, because it clarifies a lot for me too! We do try to be vessels for divine truth, as much as any human can be, I guess, so I'm glad the message feels clear, true, and right to you. The more we can see ourselves and each other clearly, the easier it is to love and find peace! Thanks for your thoughts!

    I listened to this video several times. I want the points discussed to be on my soul and be reminded daily so it becomes part of me to the point it is as natural as needing air, water, sleep, exercise, nourishment. I like the point if you love what is negative "that will remain in us." That is a point to help us become conscious of what we are actually doing each day. We cannot be in charge of ourselves if hell is leading us around by the nose and flying us through the air by the seat of our pants. We falsely believe it is us doing that until we come to realize we do nothing good and true without God. I love much Curtis' giving the description of holding negativity being "spiritual pollution" that affects our daily lives. Negative thoughts of self and of others is the influence of evil spirits. When we push them away, we free up the mind, and hell's hold over us, and this allows Heaven to come into us. I like much the points in Secrets of Heaven that the 7th day was blessed because God rested then (Curtis, you are so funny about --OOOOO neepoe tint.) You ask what God was resting from? I absolutely am so amazed and able readily to accept a Heavenly Person is equal to the 7th day. Six days is the period we are in now. The 7th day is when we become Heavenly! Yes! It is when conflict comes to an end, and yes, Curtis, I know you explain these things. I must repeat them back because I never want to forget them. The Lord rests when we are happy; I love you ask, Are you at peace when your child needs you? Humanity is what we aspire to be, Humanity comes from God. So Heavenly character is the 7th Day. Thank you, Curtis. "It doesn't mean just nice," Curtis says. Yes! A very important message here is we are meant to be acting upon love and truth, and as we are going through our lives we want to be moving towards the 7th day, developing our souls so we can stop and rest, so that our Lord does not have to worry about us. I love this other point too -- As we become an embodiment of Heaven we will draw more angels like this nearer to us. Evil will not be able to breathe around such things. The Lord does all of the fighting for us, but we must turn our sights on Him, on what is good and true. Curtis, I really like that you quoted Rev. M. L. King: "Hate can't drive out hate." I do believe we must make the desires of Heaven the focus. Our own without this conscious awareness will bubble up from hell. Self-focused goals without a reason to help others is indeed hellish. Oh, yes, now I must read about what the difference is between a spiritual person and a Heavenly person.

    • @offTheLeftEye
      @offTheLeftEye  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      H S, thank you for sharing your loving and wise thoughts with us. I so agree that we must make desires of heaven the focus! Only love can defeat hate, indeed. Enjoy your reading and thank you for being on Team Love. (=

      Good for your daughter, Karin. If only people knew: horses easily and more often "do" for people what swimming with dolphins is said to. There is a reason why people around horses get so very absorbed in the whole lifestyle. Everyone should really know a horse. It's an odd thing.... but they teach you so much about YOURSELF. It's often said, "there's nothing as good for the inside of a person than the outside of a horse". xx

    I’m listening to this as I walk my dog feeling uplifted in my spirit. Thinking my gosh for so long I’ve had supernatural encounters since I was a child. And have spent the last 5 years of my life battling against evil in both the spirit or dream realms as well as in this physical earth realm. I have tried to understand the nature of these things. At times I can admit my faith had been sort of shaken at times as I looked for answers and found none but still had to fight off wave after wave of human and demonic attacks. I got to a place now where I can’t fight things off but and have accepted there is more to this world I don’t know but want to understand. I would often find myself perplexed when looking through the word. A lot of the actions God does when taken literally makes you wonder what type of God is this? Where is the love? I see very little of it but punishment and damnation is plentiful. You always hear God is Love And yet all the examples of how he is depicted in the Old Testament seem more tyrannical. Leaving me to question how could one be so cruel to his own creation who are only at fault because they exist and are subjected to spiritual forces they most likely aren’t even aware of and yet bare all the guilt. The first time I listened to Neil Donald Walshes Conversations with God I appreciated much of it but also felt he was talking about a God who is seemingly opposite of the biblical God. But The notion that the word is misread puts a different perspective on this for me. I’m African American and the atrocities black people have experienced in this country and still do deeply disturb me. I’ve never understood why the world seems to be the way it is and why people don’t simply love each other. It’s always felt like it’s not the way things are suppose to be. I’ve felt that way since I was a child. And Their exist so many dogmas on all sides it’s hard to keep up. It’s also had not harbor negative feelings. And to hear you speak about God in this way resonates with me more than any of the other things I’ve listened to or read so far. After dealing with so many negative entities in both realms I had become very mistrustful of people and skeptical of their information but I listened to two of these videos so far and both times felt like I could breathe. I never heard about Swedenborg but I plan to watch as many of these videos as I can. If you guys have any Facebook groups or anything like that please let me know. I’d love to talk with you or anyone else who have had these sorts of experiences and are also learning this specific body of information. Thanks again for putting this together.

    I really needed to hear this today. I must be in battle or full of bad spiritual pollution. I've been finding it hard to pray, always feeling badgered. But I push through and determined to pray and learn. Random thoughts pop in my mind. That at times interrupt words I'm trying to say when I pray. And keep having to recite bible verses over and over. Until I don't feel badgered anymore.
    I'm not thinking bad thoughts or wishing anyone ill. My intentions are good. This happens when I'm trying to study the Bible or even when I write my journal. I don't give up and keep working through it. At the end of the day I'm totally exhausted and my body hurts. I've been badgered before by not good spirits but not to this extent recently.
    I'm not begrudging any of it because I know it's part of my spiritual growth. But this is the worst I've experienced thus far. I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong to bring this about or why I feel stuck and badgered so. I really needed this video today. God is amazing, whatever I'm going through He always guides me straight to what I need. And it seems it's always to OTLE. I am so so grateful for finding all of you here at OTLE. It has helped me so much. And I hope I can find that rest to "Be Still" and rid this pollution of bad spirits. Love and blessings to you all!😇🙏🌺

      I realize that it seems like everything would have been better if humanity hadn't fallen in the first place. And that was never God's will. But since it did happen, it's important to realize that there is actually a deeper gratitude and joy that can happen when people have experienced what it is like to turn away from God. I think that is the good that God is bringing out of this whole journey that the human race is on. Read the story of the "prodigal son" from Luke 15:11-32. At the end of the story, notice the attitude of the son who has returned, compared to the son that never left:
      _____
      11 Jesus continued: “There was a man who had two sons. 12 The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them.
      13 “Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. 14 After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. 15 So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. 16 He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.
      17 “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ 20 So he got up and went to his father.
      “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
      21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
      22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.
      25 “Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. 27 ‘Your brother has come,’ he replied, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.’
      28 “The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. 29 But he answered his father, ‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. 30 But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!’
      31 “‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. 32 But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”

      offTheLeftEye Yes, ❤️ and Thank you for that. It reminds me of Caine and Abel in a way. But anyway, I see the younger son’s attitude was one of embarrassment and the elder son, anger and jealousy. To me, it looks like the youngest son was found after “ drifting” or being dead ( suffering the consequences) and admitting wrong doing while other was jealous and angry, but not realizing that. So, is the story about two sons, one who admits his sins or wrongdoings and the other son who sins but does not realize that? 👍🏻🌸❤️

      Hi, Marilyn! Thanks for offering your perspective. We can all stumble into dark forests in our inner landscape. The question is, where is the path that might lead us out? True, that path may include turning away from others altogether. It could also mean turning, inside of ourselves, from the negativity coming through another person.

    I read several instances where Swedenborg was tormented negative spirits, one of which was a woman he had rejected or wrong her. Christ himself was tempted in the desert by what I call a negative spirit. I'm definitely not a prophet, but I'll say as long as we're on this earthly plane, we'll have to deal with negative spirits whether we realize it or not. They are always around. I grew up a SDA and vegetarian for most of my life and keeping the real Sabbath was my practice. I no longer subscribe to those beliefs. All things considered--health and personal issues--I think I'm doing well generally, thank the Universe!

      Hi, David! I'm so glad you're well! Yes, you're right -- Swedenborg himself was subjected to the presence and influence of evil spirits over the course of many years. He says that all of us, whether we are aware of it or not, encounter evil influence in our minds. Our work on this plane, as you mention, is to first disengage from what is harmful and then invite into our minds the presence of what is light and loving. As I say that, this video comes to mind. It's called, "How to Stop Unwanted Thoughts." th-cam.com/video/xtRdXEA6Bl0/w-d-xo.html If you have a chance to watch, I'd love to hear if you find it helpful! Blessings to you, David!

I'm 59 years old and I'm very used to becoming unpopular, so I don't get "unwanted thoughts" regarding the lack of attention I get, trust me. When I get a dig, I attribute it to the influence of the negative entity that's been messing with me for decades. It's real, literal, I hear it, feel the vibrations. I know it's there and observe those the thoughts that come into my mind. I'm a single man and control my thoughts as best I can. Peace to all!

    • @offTheLeftEye
      @offTheLeftEye  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi, Gonda! Thank you for being here, and thank you for your question! Swedenborg says that in our lives on earth, we are to simply make a beginning--to make intentional choices to address the issues in our lives. Often that means examining our part in the issue, seeing what needs to change, and asking God to help us see what actions to take. If we refuse this kind of self-reflection in this world, in the other world we won't be interested in developing this practice. But if we've done it, even a little bit, we can strengthen the muscle when we cross into the next life. It's a relief to see Swedenborg's emphasis on our intentions, as opposed to total success in removing a problem! Does that resonate with you, Gonda? I hope my answer was helpful!

    • @offTheLeftEye
      @offTheLeftEye  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can see what you mean, Zebra Color. So, in this episode, the passage Curtis reads is about how the seven days of creation as described in the book of Genesis are actually a myth with spiritual meaning that applies to each of us. On the seventh day, God rested. And so we established the Sabbath.
      Swedenborg writes that it's not because the Sabbath itself is holy - it's because the Sabbath SYMBOLIZES a holy, universal truth - which is that the seventh day - that day of (spiritual) rest - is being in a state of heaven.
      How do we get to the seventh day, spiritually speaking? We do the work. That means, we surrender our hearts to God with humility and awe, we ask for help defeating the evils we are fighting, and we ascend to a higher spiritual state - culminating in heaven in this world, and heaven in the next world. So how we make evil spirits retreat - with God's help. How do good ones move closer? With God's help. I think that's the message.
      Here's a full length episode that talks about what the seven days of creation mean, and how it relates to our lives: 'What The 7 Days of Creation Mean" th-cam.com/video/0dElLLLbUNY/w-d-xo.html
      Here's another episode about fighting the evil spirits - "How to Deal with Evil Spirits" th-cam.com/video/RmWrAoML2hE/w-d-xo.html
      And here are some episodes where Curtis shares the tools and ideas he uses to combat anxiety, depression, and fear (these are short episodes):
