- And today I am proud to present to you an acoustic version of this Genesis Master piece. This way we can really see how brilliant the composition is.
Did you noticed that, in the Steve Hackett's version of Supper's ready, the end is a tone lower?
I think I figured out why: this way it ends in the same key "Horizons" does. Thanks to that it makes the guitar introduction really part of the song and I am sure this kind of details are very important for Steve, aren't they?

This is amazing, I've never known anyone who has attempted or posted this - a single-voice, single-acoustic guitar cover of Supper's Ready, including Willow Farm and Apocalypse in 9/8, etc. Amazing accomplishment - and also, nice to listen to.

Penser que 5 personnes détestent cette version. Eh bien on a droit à leurs propres opinions, je suppose, mais je tendance à déposer une page si je n'aime pas ce que je lis ou écoute. J'ai vraiment apprécié votre interprétation! Sans Peter, qui vous représentiez ici à merveille, et Michael et le reste, sûrement ce chef-d'œuvre ne serait pas jamais arrivé. And when you demonstrate that "Supper's ready" can be played with a simple guitar getting this incredible sound that seems to be impossible... nothing else can be said! PascalsGuitar "Watched" again (I minimized the browser). I have seen this piece performed originally and covered several times, both live and recorded. I have analyzed the mathematics, lyrics, and lore. Needless to say, I am intensely moved by music. In the case of your recital, I was less enthralled by the precision and accuracy of the performance, than I was captivated by the genuine respect that you have for the composition.

I'm guessing it's actually a tone lower, to accommodate the vocalists he hires. Their voices, even Peter Gabriel's in his Supper's Ready singing days, are usually worn down after the Apocalypse in 9/8 part, which is very high and energetic. One mustn't forget they're touring the world for months and have to sing this song multiple times a week.

je suis bouleversé une fois vu l'intégralité!!! je vais me repasser cela un grand nombre de fois ! interprétation personnelle parfaite en respectant les nuances de la pièce avec une seule guitare, on est dans le grand art !!! amis guitariste et musiciens tout court si vous avez remarquer on peut coller un métronome, cela doit pas trop tanguer .....merci encore ! chapeau !!! bravo

Oui pour le film il s agit d une seul Prise mais je préfère ne pas te dire le Nombre d essais ....en revanche le chant a été enregistré ensuite. Mais je ne désespère pas d y parvenir !!!

I just discovered this cover by chance recently. It's one of my all time favorites from the 70's. I would have never believed that it could be possible by just guitar & vocal but you have done a superb job -well done!
