This performance was when I fell in love with Wang Yibo. 2019 (the performance is from the end of 2019) is the year he really "broke through" and became an A list star in China, with all the hyper-attention and a certain amount of horrible baggage that entails. The lyrics that you were responding to: I'm not as bad as you say, I'm not as good as you think, remain emotionless despite successes or failures, that's how to be happy: Yibo wrote them himself. This was the first song he released that was self penned, and if you combine it with 2020's song (also self penned) "The Rules of My World" you get a good sense of who he is as a person, or at least what he aims for. He has a lot going on on the inside, strives for sincerity, focuses on the work. He's genuinely inspirational as a person, as well as being (as you noted) far too handsome for my sanity, and a truly generational talent. His most recent new direction (because he can and will do anything) is wildlife documentaries : his first is to be released on July 29th, and he recently finished filming a second. So, yeah. He's a dancer/model and fashion darling/award winning actor/musical performer/racer/wildlife conservation activist/skateboard enthusiast who was a cohost on a popular weekly variety show in China for *years*, and is about to turn 27. It's a lot.
Clevy, welcome to the world of Wang Yibo 💚Thank you for your awesome, genuine reaction! That's pretty much how I felt the first time I saw him perform. It's hard to think of something Wang Yibo can't do; he's an actor, dancer, singer, rapper, professional motorcycle racer, race car driver, and enjoys many cool hobbies that he shares with his fans from all over the world. I'd def check out his Street Dance of China clips, specifically season 3-4. The man can do breakdancing, krump, lyrical, popping, locking, freestyle battles, and more. I think the links that Tracer.9785 provided are great!
You really can't go wrong with any 王一博 performance, song, film, tv series. My favorite might be "Like the Sunshine," where he presented a pure dance performance to his own song. Even as I type that, I'm so torn by every single live performance (singing and/or dancing) b/c he participates in the staging, choreo, lighting, etc. He's totally invested in his art, and you can feel that as a viewer. The range of his work is mind-boggling, so it's actually quite difficult to pick a favorite. The other version of "Wugan" (No Sense) is a classic...as well as his dance to "Versace on the Floor." Every Wang Yibo fan will tell you that when we see Versace on the Floor clips scroll by, it's sort of hard to breathe lol. He's just incredibly talented, hardworking, and super humble/kind. 💚
Clevy, thank you for reacting to Wang Yibo! He's a multi-hyphenate star and very popular in China. He's also an incredible actor-he was nominated for China's Oscars last year for his debut movie "Hidden Blade".
He's also an amazing dancer, skateboarder AND he's a professional race too. I'd highly recommend reacting to his dance battles in Street Dance of China 3 & 4 next! He won Champion twice as the Captain in that dance variety show. They're so much fun to watch!

"No Sense" was written by Yibo in late 2019 and was performed live by Yibo for Hunan TV New Year's Eve Countdown to 2020.
His ex-costar's karma only happened in Feb 2020. So your math isn't mathing.

Wang Yibo is a Chinese dancer, singer, actor and professional motorcycle racer. Dancing was his first passion, which led him to participate in a dance competition at the age of 13, where he was discovered by Yuehua Entertainment, later his management company. Yuehua soon sent him to train as an idol-in-training in South Korea, where he debuted in the k-pop group Uniq as the group's dancer and rapper. He is currently focusing more on his acting career, but for years he has had a tradition of releasing new music at the end of the year and performing it at the New Year's Eve parties.
