Love the concept of your channel. I’m a scout master’s daughter and my best childhood memories are of those out in the woods with my dad. He taught me survival skills, navigation, and, yes, knots! I am planning a solo hike of the LSHT this winter- sort of a thank you hike to Dad
That’s so awesome! Those are the best moments in life for me, too! Now, I get to spend time with my boys traipsing around the woods and feeding their curiosity about critters and teaching them different skills! Hope you have wonderful hike out on the LSHT! Thanks for watching!
Great content! I backpacked Philmont in 2005. Hiked Baldy. What area was your trek? Great memories! I’m looking to hike the LSHT early 2023. I enjoyed your video and the info you gave about the trail.
Glad you’re enjoying the vids and thanks for subscribing, Stephen! I’m going to have to pull out the Philmont map and look at our itinerary….still have it over 20yrs later, lol. It’s where I truly fell in love with backpacking and the awesomeness of going somewhere so breathtaking that you just don’t get with car camping! You earn the views with hiking and backpacking. Paid for in mosquito bites, blisters, sore legs, and sweat. Cheers!
@@ChristopherGalletto Same! Training hikes and Philmont is where I truly fell in love with backpacking. I was crew chief and still have all my maps and crew itinerary from the trip in the same ziplock bags I used on trail. Great times! ✌🏻✌🏻
