I'm around -6.00, and -5.00 is wrong. It's more like -3.00, but the blurriness of objects continues even as close as 2 feet in front of us. Basically it's not as black and white as people make it out to be.

It’s okay, I have almost the same eyesight, as your daughter. Don’t feel sad for her. She’ll see a beauty in the world that lots of people won’t be able to see. The world literally looks like a beautiful oil painting without my glasses/contacts. It took a long time to appreciate, but I do now. And lenses can correct it. I have astigmatisms in both eyes and I can wear contacts. It makes it very accessible. Always have two pairs of glasses for her though. Nothing is worse than having vision this poorly and then breaking your only lenses. 💜💚
As someone that had incredible eyesight all the way up until around 37 it hits differently. I've developed myopia and it sucks. I'm at the point that I now know I need to see an optometrist. I don't hate glasses nor am I concerned for that. It just sucks because I could see so well before. I could read fine print on small medicine bottles even if they were several feet away. I could read a licence plate from dozens of feet away. Humbled is the word. I called my wife four eyes WAY too many times. 😅 I mean... I love her though. It was just a joke. 😢

@@karimkartachi5715 You can, but depending on Cornea thicknness only with Smile or ICL. I just got ICL done from -9.5 and astigmatism. I now have -0,25 left and one eye -0,5 astigmatism. And I am still healing

GUYS if youn wear your minus glasses when behind a screen your eyes will only get worse. Try sitting behid a screen without your glasses and less long. Another thing that is good to do is try to get glasses that are weaker than you need by 0,5 diopters and wear that. Gradually get weaker prescriptions until eyes see 20/20
@@St4rlightxm00nlight Probably you got a subscription that was too weak. Get your eyes measured, substract 0,25 diopters and dont use farsight glasses for nearsight work just take them off. Now the most important part is STIMULUS here. Actually look at something that is slightly blurry and try to clear it up focusing. Just the act of trying this will get you better eyes. Also go outside and stop staring at your phone so much. Look at the damn world. I had to teach this myself aswell.
Wait so eye vision does get better? I thought they were not treatable without eyeglasses. I got mine last October and I use it only when I'm going out or in a class but my vision without the glass got worse and I don't know why. No one in my family wears eyeglasses except my parents but that is because they are old.

Sadly, spending time outdoors is not a perfect solutions. Entire generations have been affected, and the world has become closer to us than ever before. We will need medical solutions for people already affected. Because if what you say is true we will have many people growing up and needing medical intervention to save their eyes from other problems as they age. The world and lifestyle of people has changed so too will our bodies.

As a -5 -5 in each eye, I can attest to the accuracy of the information depicted in the video. Those number values vs image blurriness are accurate.
I am - 2.25 and I am sure it's not as bad as your - 1. The blurring starts at greater distance.

The problem with this is everything is blurred. Being nearsighted means some things that are farther away are more blurry than others that are closer.
I actually have -6.5 and -7 but in this video the -5 looks exactly what I see without glasses

I show others what my sight is like via binoculars. Turn that wheel until you represent the blurriness.
