    Now it's a piece of cake! But without this video guide, the master would have charged me 50€ for sure. Thank you very much for the explanation.

    Thank you so much for showing us the hole process. I have a 2006 F4i and was considering the new 2011-2013 my next motorcycle but after seeing it takes that much just for a simple task like coolant change, I must look for another more user friendly model, maybe the naked version. I like working on my motorcycle but it's a pain to remove so many bolts and fairing parts for a simple maintenance task. The oil change requires also to remove the fairings if you want to work clean so I might look for a more accessible motorcycle regarding maintenance.

      Hello indeed it is a big job to do the coolant change. But it Has only had to be done Every 2 years or 36.000 km. I have waited even longer. And for me its the best bike i have ever had. So its worth it in my eyes. Greetings

    I want to change the coolant , oil, oil filter, air filter and spark plugs all at once on my own. It seems I'll have to consider getting a spark plug remover tool. 🤔 Thank you for all your videos. I'll need them to help me do this major service work on my own.

    Hi,
    Thanks for posting such nice videos! It is rare to find good videos for this model since it was not sold world wide and only for a few years.
    I own a pc41 from 2012 and I was just wondering if you relly need to take the fairings off?
    I Understand that you then get access to the fillercap on the right-hand side but would it not be enough to drain from the low 6mm drain plug and fill it up again from the expansion bowl (don’t know the word in english. I am refering to the filling point under the saddle on the left hand side.
    If Jan or anyone else knows I would very much appriciate an answer :)

      Hello oskar, the haynes service manual i have already sold from this model, because i am driving the newer cbr650r RH01 from 2019 at the moment, but this model is very good, i adviced to a friend of my to buy this model and he did, he does not drive a lot wit it, and he would not spend to much on a good bike. For your question, i think it is the most easy way to remove the fairing to change the coolant, maybe it is possible to do it without, but to fill it up again you must lift the tank anyway, and before you can lift the tank, on this model you must remove the side fairing.
      On the cbr650r you can move the tank without moving the side fairing, so thats better now. Good luck with the coolant change.

      @@JanSV thank you so much for your response! Then it is no way of cheating it, its just to get the big tool box out :) Im thinking of getting the cbr 650r but i just got my drivers licens so the pc41 has to do for now :) Was thinking of Ninja 650 for a while but the sound of inline 4 is hard to beat… ;) Again, thank for getting back to me :)

      @@oskarkarlsson1800 you are welcome. The 600 pc41 is even faster then the 650. In acceleration and top speed. My cbr650r his maximum speed is only 197km/h on gps. Absolute flat out. The bike has a k&n airfilter. Stock exhaust. And a sprocket in front with one teeth less then original. But the top speed is low. Greetings. Enjoy the bike life.

      I wanted to ask you a question regarding oils. I think Honda advises for 10w30, In Greece we put 10w-40 because it is a bit hotter. Now a friend told me to use 20w50 for summer, because it is super hot and it is better for engine. Also his technician said it. What's your opinion on using different oils in winter and summer? @@JanSV

    • @JanSV
      @JanSV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am by no means an expert in oils. But depending on which oil you take, the viscosity will differ. So it is of course possible that in warm or cold seasons a different oil is better. I myself have driven with the same oil here in Belgium in winter and summer, never had any problems, both on a track day and just cruising quietly on public roads.@@manbiteslife3110

    I'm about to install phone charger on my cbr pc41 and was wondering, so you think it's enough place to wire it under the fuel tank by only raising it up like this or do you think I need to remove it? Or is there other proper ways for the wiring that are easier to run to battery? 🤔

    • @JanSV
      @JanSV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, at this moment i have a cbr650r and my friends cbr600 (i had one also but sold it 1 year ago) we installed a usb cable. We took electricity from the licence plate lighting, and also layed it under the fuel tank. We only removed the upper side of the right hand fairing and lay the wire under the tank. So lifting the tank is not needed.

    Hi, I also have this bike and I find in cold weather that alot of steam comes of the front radiator with a slight burning smell. It runs between 80-100 in temperature when I ride. Is this normal?
    I have just bought the bike so not sure how it should run. Any help would be great.
    Great vid by the way.

      Hello. I am the owner of the cbr for About eight years. After replacing the coolant for the first time. It runs A bit warmer than with the original coolant. About 80 to 103 degrees. But never any steam or A burning smell. So that is not normall. The fan starts at about 102 degrees i think. You better let it check then. Maybe Some air in the cooling system or the oil level not ok. Air filter clean? Spark plugs ok? Greetings from belgium.

      @@JanSV Hi thanks for getting back to me. The steam you notice on wet and cold days. The running temperature seems right as it is between 80-100 and the fan does come on at around 102. I only ride in warm weather and noticed the steam coming from the front what seems like the radiator guard or maybe the down pipes behind them. I will get it checked just to be sure. Thanks and keep up the good work. God bless. 🙏🏿👍🏾😁
