Please continue with this beautiful, relatively low and dynamic, angle! It makes watching table tennis so much more enjoyable and exciting. This is what we have always been asking for. Thank you WTT! ADAM BOBROW as commentator would be the icing on the cake.
Yes, amazing match, and great to see such hard rallies from two amazing European players. This match was sooo tight! Cold have almost played old 21 point rules.
Very entertaining match between Gauzy and Dima! Great to see Dima already back in surprisingly good form after being out of action for so long with ankle problems. Was really missing him.
i can't stand these 2. Ovtchalol's style is yuck and Gauzy is so slow. Boll and many older guys like that are faster at their age. says a lot. and he said "he wanted not to be the basic European to get beaten by Chineses" LOL... how he must feel dumb right now. spoke too soon. since he got Xu Xin nothing before and nothing after.
what a match! two of my favorite players. im glad i caught this 5 mos after it was posted, don't know how i missed it. i would love to see these guys play live. alas im in the US where hardly any tt goes down
What a nail-biting match. L We should be given option to give 100 likes for this video! Both played great. I was rooting for Dima though. Glad that he won.
11:35 gauzy clearly moved the table. Why isnt ovcharov awarded the point. I can understand that on servers its hard to see for the referee but on occasions like this the rules are pretty straight forward right?
@@Wole58 Yes true, but rules are rules. Without following them, it would be up to the umpire to decide if the bump caused disruption or not. Thats not fair because every umpire might judge that differently
This is the best camera angle to watch table tennis but somewhere in the middle of starting camera angle and when play camera angle is the best distance to watch table tennis and zumed out if point go wider. Little little closer will be top best because this is not big tennis and ball is only 4cm. Sometimes cant see little wrist movements which causes to aponent miss next shot. This is not big tennis and details are mutch mutch important . Also always is good angle when is wright handed player closer to camera but when lefthended player is closer cant see his micromovements which is mutch important than in big tennis .
Gauzy was losing the balance but he did pretty well....he did well by his forehand I found his forehand rubber is amazing I actually wanna know which rubber is this.
Well Gauzy is consistent…he seems to drop the ball around this area of the tournament he plays. I wish he would do better because he’s so talented. Dima put the work into recovery and you can really see it here. He was still training with his foot messed up.
Gauzy lacks footwork speed and counter-hitting speed. if he can't get it now, he'll never get it. getting older doesn't help that area of a style. he blocks way too much when he could counter easily. too kind on his 1st ball attacks too. banana or strawberry flicks are too weak. need more punch. Dima like always and even before his injury, he lacks of spin control. so many easy balls go all over the place. it's crazy. both aren't my cup of Tea anyway...
@@whatevereyewant are you refering to the match vs Ma Long? because yes he got a period in the match where he was good enough to take a set or 2 to Ma but, it didn't last before Ma got the match under control again. that means the mental is pretty weak too for Dima. always been. everything is weird with him anyway. when you look at him training, he never gets out of his comfort zone. he can't get better this way.
See how China cannot dominate. Everyone was playing this game wrong. Using the grip everyone uses, the game evolved wrong. Everyone learned to play hitting with there paddle totally closed. You have to think and should hit with your paddle face open and use your wrist to hit. (not turn your body or hit with your elbow or it will close your paddle face.) And your wrist has to go forward and up, and the up motion has to go to the back off the paddle. (Sorry i used paddle because i cant remember how to spell rackette )and the timing has to be as soon as you start your swing, you hit the ball. The Chinese are already copying this new style. So everyone is even right now. When people learn to get that face open using a grip that is natrually closed. The more people learn to get that paddle face open before they swing and use the technic i discribe above the better the play will get. The way everyone played up untill now is swing with your body paddle face closed and swing like a crazy man or hit with the elbow for the backhand and close the face. You cant play at a high level like that. That was a mistake waiting to happen and they happened alot. That is why you seen a slower paced game with short rallys up until recent couple weeks. As long as everyone plays with this thinkig no 1 country will dominate. Chinese just played a little better then the rest off the world because they used there wrist a little bit and had enough sense to open there paddle face a little. Now everyone including China has to learn a totally superior way to hit the ball. So right now no one country is better then the rest.
I dont understand how you can swing with the paddle open, when the ball has top spin. Another thing is that the players dont use just the ellbow or hip, they use everything at once, when they strike hard. Hip, "ellbow", wrist, arm, sometimes they even jump 😋 You should make some tutorial videos (Short ones or longer ones). Maybe you mean hitting the Ball with an open paddle, but use the wrist very heavily to counter the spin of the ball, but I dont see how thats good or better or even possible. Good idea?
@@urhere976 You have to use your finger pads to counter the top spin. For best effect you should always keep three fingers on the rubber rather than just the index finger like most of these so called 'pro' players who don't understand the mechanics do. Also it's really important to always keep your knees bent at a 90°C angle and your stomach pulled in and only push your stomach out (as much as you can) during the stroke. If you have a nice pot belly, this will help tremendously generate some extra spin, so don't forget to have a Big Mac after each training session.

What a match! This one is going down as one of my all time favorites AND it is recorded with a proper camera angle. A-MA-ZING match.
Totally agree. Perfect light and camera!
this sport still needs 60 fps though
I'm still mad at the obnoxious aliasing on the table and ball. What's the resolution of these cameras?
Amen! Great match and angle! Only thing missing to make this the perfect viewing experience is ADAM BOBROW as commentator.
Qualitiy still sucks.

In his defense, this table seem to suck pretty hard. Gauzy barely hit the supports and the whole table goes wobbling like crazy.

Dima was a bit too much of a challenge for him, but it is good to see Simon back in action.
I thought they were very evenly matched, the score line shows this.
