    Once you start building battery boxes it becomes an obsession. Really nice job

    I dont want to be that guy, but what about putting the battery in sideways? wiring more difficult but more room? heat shrink? Nice build. everyone does things a little different. great job...

      Some lithium battery manufacturers do not recommend put battery on the side or up side down. This setup works well for me. Cheers.

    Great video . If it's ok, I have a couple of questions, has placing the breaker on top of the battery cause any issues and should I leave breaker off until everything is completely wired ?? Appreciate the help .

    • @FishyAngler
      @FishyAngler  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Never had problem with the breaker. Foam is soft, never tripped the breaker. If you mean until you connect trolling motor, then no. I never turn it off. Its job is to prevent short.

    Great video. I am about to tackle this myself. But if you still look at these comments, I am wondering why you need a separate cable system for your battery charger. Can't you use the same cables, through the same housing, as you use for your output to your motor?

    • @FishyAngler
      @FishyAngler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use the same cables to charge the battery if you have connector on it. My motor cables are ran through the kayak and I leave them there while take the battery in the house to charge. That why I need the other connector. That’s just what I do.

    is 60 amp enough juice for all day ? i dont know if i shoud go with 60 or 100 amp but 100 os double the price what would you recomend.

    • @FishyAngler
      @FishyAngler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends how much you plan to motor. For me, 60ah enough for a day to move from place to place as a fish. But if you are plan trolling, I’d recommend 100ah.

    Does it matter that it's not vented when it's a Lithium battery?

    • @FishyAngler
      @FishyAngler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s lithium battery and is completely sealed. There is no ventilation needed.

  • @GmGarlo

    Do you just push the button on your breaker when you charge your battery or do you remove the negative cable instead ?

    • @FishyAngler
      @FishyAngler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m charging the battery through the same port I power trolling motor. So, I don’t do anything. I just unplug motor, connect charger to the same port and charge.
