This is how I read history, and I hope you find it illuminating:
As a Muslim we view Christianity (not what the Messiah taught, though his being the actual Messiah is something we differ on) as nothing more than the rehashing of general pagan sun worship astro-theology which is the core of all paganism from South America, ancient Egypt, Babylon, Rome, Hinduism (Vedantism), and so forth. Their symbol is usually the pyramid, including ziggurats and Cleopatra's Needles.
Suffice to say, all pagans in the know (elites) hate any notion of a people worshiping the One True God (Eloh / Allah) and not their god-kings who over time have included Alexander the Great, Pharaohs, Xerxes (Zoastrians worship fire, which the sun is also type of), the Roman emperors, and so forth. There are many, many examples of this throughout history, including Charles 1 in England (Divine Right of Kings). The christians say Jesus is king and that he is also god. So Jesus is a metaphorical god-king represented by 'his' vicar, the Catholic Pope and other patriarchs of the Orthodox and Eastern Orthodox churches. Of course, we are not talking about monophysite Christians who were also mercilessly persecuted after the Council of Nicea where the triune nature of the Pagan godhead was forcibly enforced upon the majority Arian (monophysite) bishops by Constantine.
Pagansim is the 'religion' of power, domination and, fundamentally, psychopathy of the elites over non-elites.
This is why Jews have always been persecuted by paganism, and trinitarian Christians. That is why the Romans / Byzantines slaughtered Jews in Jerusalem and used the Temple Mount as a rubbish disposal area until conquered by the Muslims who allowed the Jews to return. When the Crusaders conquered Jerusalem, both Muslim and Jew were slaughtered like animals. When conquered by Saladin, the Jews were once again allowed to return.

Any mention of Jews in the negative in the Quran is often described by scholars to mean those who are corrupted by power, and who have forsaken the commands of their faith, especially the 10 commandments, setting up money, power, secularism, or the like as demigods and who break their oaths and agreements. True Jews who keep their own laws, such as the sabbath, pray 3 times a day, eat kosher and honour their agreements absolutely and have absolutely never been an issue with us. We'll happily welcome you into our mosques to pray your prayers if a synagogue is not readily accessible to you.
Of course, we have our issues with Judaism, as we must, as we believe that Islam has superseded Judaism, but not in terms of the core ideals. As a People of the Book, you have had the fortitude, resilience and faith to keep the 10 Commandments, especially the first - absolute monotheism for thousands of years and we respect and praise you a lot for that.
