    I love this. I am accomplished crocheter, LOL. I was getting concerned when I first watch re: re: crochet chain and "numbers". HOWEVER, actually, this video makes sense. You can hide in the starting chain if it doesn't fit. Why bother with silly things that can easily be covered with a lovely border. What a fabulous and relaxing video. I love your voice, very relaxing and the reason why I learn to crochet. 10 years ago, my lovely mum was diagnosed with dementia. I needed to relax and learnt to crochet (via TH-cam). I now design my own stuff, etc,.... BUT... I still LOVE repeat type patterns, easy to follow, like meditation (catch up on Netflix... or just be silent). This shawl is BEAUTIFUL. Well done, and thank you xxx

    This could really be put in the category of "Unintentional ASMR" because you very much have a voice for soft speaking or guided meditation. I started full watery eyed yawning like crazy at only about 5 minutes in. (A major compliment from my anxious, insomniac behind, by the way.)

    I listen to Bailey as I crochet too :)! Your shawl is simple and yet elegant. I live in subtropical Queensland, Australia, so it’s not as cold here but nights can feel chilly so I’m tempted to make this shawl - it’s so simple. Thank you for your video.

      Thank you! :) I might recommend a cotton or cotton blend, it's breathable and has incredible drape

    This is so pretty. I’m a beginner crocheter how many skeins of yarn did you use to make this scarf?
    Red Heart Detroit yarn is it sold in the US? I’ve never seen it.
    What size yarn is it?
    Sorry for all the questions. My daughter is getting married in Hawaii (January) I think this will be nice as gifts for the bridal party !!!!!

      I used four and a half balls (450 grams) of yarn for my shawl. As to availability, I'm actually in Finland, so I don't know if Red Heart can be found in the US. Any kind of yarn with a similar yardage will work fine for this shawl, though. I hope this help!

      You can try the Red Heart Unforgettable!! It’s amazingly soft and absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!
      I found the ‘stained glass’ color and bought all that I could find, there’s a beautiful shine to it, everything I’ve made up with it is beautiful, it ombrés slowly and there’s parts that look like denim, there’s parts that are bright magenta, it’s the prettiest multicolored yarn I’ve ever seen.
      Other than that, if you can find it in a solid color, it’ll be the softest shawl you’ve ever made. It’s a bit ‘sticky’ kind of like specialty yarns if you need to undo stitches, but not terrible and the yarn doesn’t kink or send fluff all over the place.
      I use a slightly larger than recommended hook sometimes to make it a bit lacier also, it’s so drapey, it makes good apparel.

    Hi, what are the dimensions to this lovely shawl?

    • @sometimesheatherknits
      @sometimesheatherknits  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dimensions depend on yarn used. Mine is approx 2 meters tall and 60 cm wide. You can determine width by simply measuring foundation row, and length by measuring your shawl while crocheting. I hope this helps!

    It’s difficult seeing stitches in dark yarn. For videos please use light colors so the stitches show. Cut the chain number by one stitch so you don’t have a stitch hanging after the first row.
