They are kinda like gods itself (eg: monarch of dragons, The architect , monarch of white flames, monarch of frost .. ) and the most powerful monarch of death aka shadow monarch. The monarch of death was defeated in a battle against all the monarchs (1 vs the rest) The reason was that monarch of death sided with the angels of god. after his defeat he wanted a new vessel. Other monarchs were on a never ending battle with the angels and the wanted to destroy worlds (next earth). Monarch of death watched over people of earth and found sung interesting because he was close to death everytime. But since sung was very weak he made a deal with the architect to make sung stronger.
