Crochet Curly Cat Toy, Crochet Fast Cat Toy To Make, Crochet Curly Cue

How to make this super fun and easy cat toy with just at stick and some crochet curly cues.

You will need:
a stick with a hole drilled in one end
yarn in any color and any fiber content (I'm using cotton yarn)

I make mine with a dowel rod , which you can buy at the home improvement shops, or hardware shop. I get a 36 inch , you will have to drill a hole at one end tho. That way I can sit on the sofa and have more reach to dangle and move the stick around for my cat . The dowel rods come in all sizes diameter and length. I have been tying a Pom Pom made out of yarn to mine. But I am going to make your curly danglers and change them out . Cats love variety. Thanks for taking the time to share your craft 🧶🐈🐈‍⬛🐕🧶🪡

If you can't or don't want to drill a hole into the dowel then you can buy steel screw eye hooks from any hardware store as well. You just screw it into the end tip of the dowel. I did this for a dance class to make "brooms" for the chimney sweeps (mary Poppins dance routine), spray painted the dowels black, then attached several black pipe cleaners to eye hook to make a little "broom". Worked really well, is cheap, strong and durable but lightweight, and small (they were young kids) and actually looked like a little chimney sweep broom. In this case you'd attach/tie on the little twirls, or an amigurumi mouse or fish or whatever you'd like to the hook.

Yes my daughter loves playing with our cats but she gets to close to there claws so this toy on the stick keeps her hands away.
