Perfection. Chon's material has been in constant loop in my audio systems all year round, and I think this is the album that'll join them for the rest of next year
I blame that awesome video for making me space out and having to listen to Mestis a second time. I blame that fantastic drumplay filled with accented cymbal splashed and groovy kick hi hat combos for a third listen. I blame Chon for not even warning me with a taste of that lick before loosing me in their careful caressing of the scale(s?) for a fourth listen. I blame the synergy of all the parts so peacefully yet actively packaged and jettisoned into my ears and the root of universal for all my other listens... there went my lifetime of discovering. I did it!

Noooooooo. Not Polyphia or Intervals. Not in the same category. Intervals is just like...washington DC core and Polyphia is shred show. Not at all on the level of inspiration for Plini, AAL or Chon.
And yet they're still touring with them at the moment (w/intervals) ! Tomas from Modern Day Babylon told me they were always jamming together, so maybe we'll see something pop out anytime soon ! ;) Don't judge before they even make it
Solal Mallemont I'm sure. Who wouldn't jam with Tosin. Aaron is a good guitarist too, although I'm frankly not a fan of his style because I find it to be very plain, but he's definitely talented. I would definitely be more open to liking an aaron marshall feature over polyphia though. Those guys just strike me as exceptionally arrogant and 90% of their music is just yaaaaaaaaaawn. By the book shredding for 4 minutes. Also, just saying, I saw Veil of Maya on tour with The Plot In You...so bands touring together doesn't mean they're in the same league lmao. AAL ft. Jason Richardson would be interesting though...or maybe Ron Jarzombek?
Yeah I get what you mean, I really lost interest in Polyphia with their Renaissance EP, all the songs sound the same, some major scale shredd and they call it a day... I do think that Aaron as more "feeling" than the guys in polyphia, though ALL isn't really famous for their feat it could be interesting to hear what they could produce together ! Sithu Aye would definitely have some killer vibes over tosin's rythms
