I think you are right in your final assessment of the bridge section. It works because it has a close key relationship to the chorus. But I'm not enough of a music theorist to know what the relationship is. All I know is that it sounds right and provides a soothing calm between storms.
It's not always easy to get the flow of a song when you're listening to it in a dozen small pieces because you're pausing to analyze. I'm glad you let the song play a bit more at the end. It really is a great track. I agree that Akane would be bored without someone like Kanami there to let her spread her wings.
Band-maid is a dream band for each member, because everyone feels that their voice counts, allowed to do what they want, and the difference in each of their favorite genre creates the positive chemical reaction.
Nice take back! Lol I was sitting here yelling No No No and then you listened start to finish and pulled it back. Phew! I love the chorus on this one particularly. I can’t necessarily tell you why (pun intended) but it brings back feels of 60’s songs. I think it’s the chordal progressions actually. Anyway, great reaction as usual! 👍🏻🇦🇺
I would like to add why this is one of my all-time favorite Band Maid songs. In my opinion, it's chaotic on purpose. We have Miku beginning the song with a very non-professional clearing of her throat, which to me is to let us know it's not going to be one of their usual hard-core professional and strictly planned songs. I believe this was a song thrown in from them letting off steam. I also believe this song was used to experiment with some ideas they wanted to try out. On a very unserious note: Regardless of what they lyrics might say or mean, the song title, "Why Why Why", might just be the reaction Miku and Kanami expected people to say after hearing this, when we have got so used to hearing them hammer out master gems in the last three years. I picture them with a general song plan and Miku telling them all, "Just do what you want in this one. Just go for it", and maybe a few of them are a little tipsy during this session. =)

Agreed on that Velvet Revolver vibe! This is absolutely one of my favorites from the album. Every B-M album has standards that are always on my playlist ("Wonderland", "Rinne", "DICE", "decided by myself") and songs that I enjoy but can't listen to in heavy rotation because they have such a unique mood that require me to be in a particular place to appreciate them ("Page", "Catharsis", "CLANG", "Awkward"). What I love about this piece is that it's absolutely in the former category, but it has a lot of the oddball elements of the latter.
I love your Band-Maid reactions, because you seem like the fan I wish I could be. Genuinely loving them just as much, but able to appreciate what they do more than I can because of your perception and knowledge, haha.
I'm now thinking that this is the most progressive piece of music they had made up until this date, play it loud and surrender to the future. Your jazz reference is very apt I think.
You need to get the physical album with the bluray of four songs done instrumentally. I think you would like it. There's close-ups of each one of them playing.
Funny you mention the VR reference. I was playing a different song from this album and I friend asked if I was listening to Slash. It may have been Chemical Reaction.
It is funny that you said that you think sometimes Akane is too good for her own good. That was my reaction to the band after listening to this album. As Band Maid loyalists ( Madiacs ) we are all going to love this album and the evolution. I know aot of people who would just be lost and their head would be spinning. I mean it took me a few listens to the 2nd CD in the SE version to be able to process everything. 😂 As for The Dragon Cries, I love that song. Of course I grew up listening to that style of music so I immediately felt a connection to the style.
What you said about the drum composition reminded me about a conversation I had with a drum instructor once where he was explaining how a drummer "overplaying/sounding too good" can really ruin how a band sounds in the long run and I agreed, but at the same I was like "Well maybe that drummer just needs to find a band that can keep up with them instead of having to play down?"
I watched the footage of Akane when she was in the jazz band before joining band-maid. Her expression said: I'm sh^t bored with this... Akane playing in Band-maid.: Yeeyyy! I'm feeling damn good!
We love our Gorilla for everything she does for our Gorilla is the glue that binds them together .Im just spouting nonsense .another great react champ .Long live the PO
I don't know much about guitar sounds and how you change the sound of a guitar, but the solo in this song reminded me of "Cliffs of Dover". Does anyone know what that type of guitar sound is called? 7:54 for reference.

Talking of colours and influence, the chorus sounds hands down very Mowtown!? I thought that "honk" was outside here for a moment.. lol. That little bit in the middle was just like a soothing balm to the whole. It's funny what you say towards the end about Akane as a drummer.. you know the things you're tapping into are probably the same qualities that Jimmy Page saw when he caught them. For him to compare her taste and style to that of John Bonham, as I believe he did, is probably the highest accolade anyone could pay to her.
One of my favorite tracks on the album. I still like Manners the best, then Chemical Reaction. I think that's because I'm "older." I also agree that on this album only, Akane is doing too much - just my personal taste though. I still love her of course, and if this sound appeals more to young folk, then dammit that's fine with me. Anything to help these ladies.

As for The Dragon Cries, I love that song. Of course I grew up listening to that style of music so I immediately felt a connection to the style.
That Mikuuuuuu at 10:55 made me laugh
This tracks basically Band Maid practice sessions.
This is my fav in the new album! Hopefully there’s mv of this music
Her expression said:
I'm sh^t bored with this...
Akane playing in Band-maid.:
Yeeyyy! I'm feeling damn good!
@@lurkmerchant Yeah, to truly enjoy playing and creating you really have to find a group you fit in with and can grow with.
Mikuuuuuuuuuuuu..!!!!!
*finally* LOL
Nice reaction Mr.champ, as always..
Yes Sir about AKANE...Progressive....and IN YOUR FACE style...Love these gals...
Chaos is made good with the composition? Got it.
Chaotic stuff with simple crowd interactive core, we’ll see how people jump when it goes live.
We love our Gorilla for everything she does for our Gorilla is the glue that binds them together .Im just spouting nonsense .another great react champ .Long live the PO
One of my favorites!
Spreading their wings!
This Song gives me Thrill Vibes, I like it
i dont know with all of you guys
but what i heard is a female version of Stone Temple Pilot, in this song
and thats great
also check out Lovebites - Burden Of Time and Shadowmaker live at studio
blown away song for metalhead
@The Champ Of Medium, both the cough at the beginning and the extended vocal melody were by Saiki
Because Because Because! #BandMaid
I don't know much about guitar sounds and how you change the sound of a guitar, but the solo in this song reminded me of "Cliffs of Dover". Does anyone know what that type of guitar sound is called? 7:54 for reference.
Kinda sounds like she pushed the wah-wah halfway down and just left it there, plus some reverb.
Why Why Why you may ask did we take 3 songs and jam them together.

8:31 Like a modern day Bohemian Rhapsody...only (don't shoot me) even better.
This song has a lot of good 'old' Stone Temple Pilots in it :-)
Yes sir!
Exactly. Guns N Roses doing a Motown chorus + a Jane’s Addiction trippy part (which Champ was trying to wrap his head around). I LOVE IT.
lol there is a reason why it's called WHY WHY WHY
A lot of people say this is their favourite song of the album. For me is like... top 5... well, top 3... or, top 1? haha.
Konami, the goddess of rifs!!
Love the return of the wah wah!
Akane Hirose is like a reincarnation of John Bonham... told Jimmy Page a couple years ago)
My dog: cuts loose barking for no reason
Me: What the...
Champ: Sorry if you heard that honk
Me: Oh ok
Is this structurally all over the place like Play? Btw I still would love a redux of that...did you already talk about it on Patreon I guess?
MISA MISA MISA!
@@chrisbergsten1429 Like a lot of my favorite bands' albums, my opinion morphs over time. I may need a hundred more listens to Unseen World before I lock in on them. Some of it is absolutely personal taste though.
@@chrisbergsten1429 Personal taste, I know, but I love it when the drums are loud in the mix. Gives it a live feel and cuts through the dynamic compression a bit.
☝️Don't ever try to master Gorilla Hirose how to play☝️. She knows exactly where she will do a drum roll or three anywhere in a song😜
Agreed, plus he talks too much.
Ikr right its now a drum
Roll its just a triple pedal only and its not really hurt to hear
@@dexterplant778 Nah. Champ is the only reactor I watch with any regularly BECAUSE of how much he talks. No reactor I've ever watched breaks things down to the extent he does. He actually LISTENS, analyzes, and gives his thoughts throughout the entire song rather than giving fake ass, generic, meaningless praise overtop of the song and then ending the video with "alright so anyway like comment and subscribe" like so many other reactors. But that's just my opinion.
Where are you Gary ! I'm rocking here by myself !
I was busy replying to you on another channel :)
@@GaryHolloway-810 LOL, get a grip !
80's disco fever ? 😁
MISA!!! MISA!!! MISA !!!! 🥃🥃🥃
I think the solo might be miku's coz its sound so different than kanami's guitar sound... Maybe it's just my imagination
I have the same feeling too.
I already know that A LOT of fans LOVE this song, i am not one of them. I don´t hate it, i don´t dislike it, but it´s my least favorite song on this album. It´s too messy for me, even if i like that a lot of times in the songs and it still has some structure, but i don´t know how to feel about this song... Without lyrics i wouldn´t know what this song is trying to deliver, if that makes sense!? In every other song the emotion clicks right in and i know which story it´s trying to tell me. A personal thing, the song of course is DAMN well written like always and with a lot of thoughts from Kanami, Miku etc., but it doesn´t click for me... Interesting Champ is also not sure about it in some ways...
And i know there are cool riffs and a catchy chorus etc., so this song is still POSITIVE even if i don´t know how to feel about it!
We always want more Miku! Po! 🕊🤘
Jonas I have to ask you. Did you decide to change your handle pic, or were you caught in some sort of fireball accident & that's you without skin?
@@GaryHolloway-810 Awww does it show that much? I'd better get a good toupé to cover it up! :D
@@Jonas_S_ It's ok the chrome look is gonna be all the rage for 2021, so you're ahead of the game :)
@@GaryHolloway-810 Must be the first time ever I've been in the forefront of what's modern! YAY ME! 😎
(btw, I love Marvin from the Hitchhiker movie (and the books) 😉 )
@@Jonas_S_ Yeah I kinda thought it might of been Marvin really. I was just being paranoid. Lol
A casserole song. Like going to fridge and seeing if we can make something tasty with what's there. This sounds like they had some ideas and set about merging into something cohesive. Does it work, yeah.... mostly -- but I probably won't come back often for further helpings.
akane just gonna do akane things. which is to say, everything. This bus has no stops. If she sleeps, I'd be suprised.
also literally nobody in this band ever lets up. kanami and misa just always killing it. the vocals are amazing, don't get me wrong, but instramentally, holy hell
She does sleep... but she drums even while sleeping

@@lordgalahad oh my god, that's the most adorable thing and somehow not suprising at the same time
Prprprptpr erfect
Growwwwwwwwwwwwww wa! I like that hahaha
akane changing the drum beat timing like wtf 4-4 to 3-5?
Well, the song is called Why Why Why, so you know why.
Their Guitar and Drum sounds are way heavier than the likes of Velvet Revolver, Stone Temple Pilots etc.
I need to drink a shot for everytime you say nuts. Maybe you are a squirrel? Iam drunken!
The Maid's are just laying waste
Fun huh? It's progressive in the sense or feeling that the artists are making the decisions rather than a producer.
Sorry I also may have reacted too quickly, and I may be a bit fanatical, ever since I discovered Band Maid music has came back into my life where there hadn't been in a long time, so I'm over protective please forgive me and ganbatte kudasai.
is not Miku she is Saiki to scream😉😉😉😉😉
All shouts in Unseen World are by Miku.
I'm sorry but I disagree, the great thing about this band is that they can get away with anything,I'm not sure what your musical training is, but I'm confident that I don't fell the same way about the song, imho.
They may have to dumb down some of their songs ;-) You know for the normies.
Nahhhh
Why Why Why was my least favourite song on the album. It felt very mediocre with no real standout performance. It had good vocal parts from Saiki and Miku. The solo from Kanami wasn't bad. Misa on Bass is never bad. Akane was good, but she has had better showcases.
The reason it sounds disjointed is because you stopped all the f****** time
