@@WhatGear Same here man. The xm4 didn't seem different enough to warrant replacing the xm3s which are still fantastic. The xm5 might be the next purchase though. Got the xm3 when they first came out so I've had them for a while.
At first I didn't like the design at all, but after watching a bunch of these vids, the looks has really grown on me. Think they look amazing now. Can't wait to get my hands on one of those!
As a Sony Fanboy myself I still own my black Sony WH-1000XM4, I'm really loving the 1000X Series ever since the XM3, the black WH-1000XM5 Looks absolute Boss, I'll buy one come My Birthday in August.
@@wyw201 the 1000X series is targeted to normal ppl while the 2 models that u have mentioned, the price isn’t something that everybody is willing to fork out and it is nothing surprising to expect that they will sound better than the xm5 considering the huge difference in price point

I hope the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones go on sale at Best Buy this year for Black Friday 2023. I purchased the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones last Black Friday 2022 for $228 at Best Buy saving me over $100. These Sony noise cancelation headphones are awesome and it sounds like being at the movies wearing them watching my 2022 Samsung S95B OLED 4K Smart Television. I seem to be the only one that purchased these headphones only to use with my Bluetooth Samsung 4K OLED Smart Television.
Thanks for the video! Unfortunately, there are two major things I can’t get past with these headphones. I refuse to pay $400 for an all plastic set of headphones when for $50 more (occasionally) I can get the aluminum/stainless steel AirPods max. Secondly, the fact that both this and the ps5 are Sony products yet these cannot wirelessly connect to said ps5 is absolutely ridiculous.
I got the Max and also the XM5. All I can say is, the Max sound stage and instrument separation are just unbelievable. But the Max are just too big and cumbersome for me. And heavy. Really heavy. These are meant for travelling and commute. Here is where the XM5 came in. Lightweight and sounds good and with the ability to charge 3 mins and get 3 hours of playtime. That’s a killer. But Max with Apple Music and iPhone are just unbelievably mind blowing. Their Digital Master are just unrivalled. Even Tidal Hifi Master can’t compare.
Looks good, need to try em' ASAP ! 😍 But what happened to Sony R&D ? It's like they were saying "F*ck it lets just copy Bose and make it better sounding" it looked very similar to NC 700 (design, packaging, case etc)
That's definitely something that I'm going to cover in the in depth review. The problem is right now I don't have th beta headphones app to test them at their best. So I didn't really want to go into that in this video. I will get back to you on that though.

They made them as light as possible and thats a win in my book!

This is not an improvement at all. You can't fold it anymore compared to the xm4. You're not objective at all.
I guess the argument for that is that the hinges can be more rigid and possibly more durable.
