  • So many of you have been asking me in the comments to let you know what I eat, and what foods help me to keep on going when running. I’m going to tell you a little bit about my diet and what eat and drink to help me perform at the very best.

    I saw mo stop by my bird feeder, he ate three sunflower seeds and then ran away at 5:20 pace.

    When I trained for a marathon, I would eat a giant 2/3 lb burger the night before my Saturday long run and it worked really well. One time I ate that, then woke up and did a 20 mile run without even eating breakfast before.

    Well, that’s more or less what I eat. Toast with jam, coffee for breakfast, lunch is rice with fish and fruit, dinner could be spag bol, chicken and rice, etc. I think my diet’s quite nice but I could do with eating less red meat. I like running around 5k at low pace and I feel good, keep my weight down nicely. Mo seems like such a nice humble guy.

    Just watched this, thank you for the insight Mo. One question I have, which I think you could answer, is, how do you structure your training during Ramadan, do you adapt to fasting or do you make up for the fasting in the off-season? Cheers.

      Seeing no one responded, I'll tell you what I've learned, hard effort 2 steps in two steps out, easier effort two in three out, the later switches the hips, the former you have to switch every so often. Hope this helps

      Cinthia Mateo miles. Pace is also in miles. Usually... but it’s bc miles are more accurate for pacing then km pacing since it’s a longer distance per km in a mile. Hope this helps.

      mewari videos It depends. Whey protein is an immediate source of protein but Casein is a slower dissolving protein. So if you want something right after a run then a solid whey protein is nice. But if you want to have a shake beforehand then I believe a Casein shake is going to be the best bet.

      It really depends what your ambitions are in running. I personally eat ice cream 3 to 4 nights a week if I’m training consistently, but, I live in a small town with not many races. So I haven’t really committed myself to training hard, I just do it to stay in shape and because I enjoy it. I’d say if you’re not training to be elite it’s probably ok to eat some sweets.
