Loved this video! I will note that butterfly weed was shown in the picture and not swamp milkweed - those have different water preferences and heights (and colors).
This looks like so much fun to design!! Can you share more about the training you took to learn these strategies? I'm interested in exploring this as a potential career.
My interest for ecology and gardening began in my own backyard garden. When I decided I might want to offer sustainable design services to others, I took the Pro-level Permaculture Design Certification from Oregon State University. It is completely online and cost $1200 but there are scholarships and financial aid available. From there, I found a few clients to design for and then things just took off thanks to word-of-mouth and social media! I highly recommend taking a PDC and reading as many books on soil microbiology, food forestry, and native landscaping as possible. The books at Timber Press and Chelsea Green publishing are great for this.
Sooo cool!! - Taryn
I'm so jealous of this homeowner! I loved this design so much ❤
Thank you, it's been a really fun project! We're headed out to Maryland to start the install in a few weeks, it's going to be amazing!

Did you get Rainscapes involved ? Great concept!
Love this! Can't wait to see it in action.
Thank you! It's coming SO SOON!
How did you get bats there? Just build the habitat they like?
