i would suggest to take off the rear case of the laptop and inspect the solder joints on the charging port to the motherboard. common point of failure for those laptops and if its the case can be repaired easily, good luck

Good point. Thanks. Once I got the replacement I can take a look at the solder joints on the back as well.
