    I want a 2020 but they're gonna be more expensive than previous model years. The '20 is also gonna have a new 2.5L engine or a 1.6L Turbo, I believe they're doing away with the 2.0 Turbo plus a new configuration of the CVVT. A lot of times the first production year of new models & new engines is not a good time to buy. They usually don't have all the bugs worked out yet. The 2019's are probably gonna be real cheap comes fall so you just have to decide what's more important to you.....having the new model with all the changes & a first year engine or saving money & getting a '19.

    Better wait for 2020 Sonata with their new Smartstream engine, Atkinson cycle with both port and direct injection, similar to what Toyota is doing with their engines, less maintenance down the road as dual injection prevents carbon buildup, and most likely more reliable too.

      @@RaitisRides Thanks for the response, Raiti. I've been trying to make the decision between 2019 Sonata Sport, 2020 Sonata, and the brand new Venue. I really liked the interior for 2020 Sonata but it sounds like the LCD dashboard and 10 inch infotainment will only be in higher trims..
      I hope they don't make the Venue expensive with the lack of rebates and higher MSRP when they claimed that it's for those w/ a tight budget.

Of these three, the 2015 is my Favorite-not just for the extra power, but also the handling. If Hyundai actually makes an "N" model in the 2020 lineup, I will be interested in that one.

      Any issue with Hyundai while you drive ?

    • @tomcruz8948
      @tomcruz8948 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Justice California I used to be a Nissan guy before I got I turned onto Hyundai. With all cars pretty much being driven by electronics, most every car has some small quirks. The last Nissan I owned would not shift back up to a higher gear (while using the cruise control) after climbing a steep hill. The dealership could never fix the problem. With that being said, my main complaint with the Hyundais is with the transmission erratic shifting when you are driving normal. When I say erratic, I mean the transmission seemed to not know what gear to shift into at low speeds. I had the most problems in the 2012 model and it was never resolved. I did not have the 2017 model long enough (only 10 months) to start experiencing this issue. Now with my 2015, I started having the same problem around 50,000 miles. My local dealership flashed the "rom" and supposedly did a software update. Now, I only experience the erratic shifting after driving in sport mode and I go back into normal mode. The erratic shifting only lasts for few miles and then clears. On the positive side of this of this, my "takeoff" (0-60) has vastly improved. On a side note, I was in the market for a new car for daughter back in January of this year. She (we) drove the Honda Civic, Nissan Versa, Nissan Sentra, Toyota Corolla, Kia Forte and the Hyundai Elantra. We drove every car twice and two different days (one raining and one not) to see how they would perform. All of these cars had small quirks about them-YES ALL OF THEM!!! I left the decision to my daughter and she decided on the Elantra mainly for the tech, comfort and ease of driving. I was in the market for Genesis G70 back in April. I drove all levels of the 3.3T models available and found quirks on every model (If you would like more specifics-please comment). Of these models, my favorite was the 3.3T Dynamic with all wheel drive and no electronic damping. (in my opinion had the least amount of quirks). I did not buy any of the G70’s because I am anticipating a Sonata N.

    Nice review! Here's my commentary (my opinions and observations): You mention the interior...I doubt if it would cost the manufacturer anything to put some "color" in the interior. Top of line car, yet no more choice than the base car for inside interior color. All black is fine if you that's what you want, but if that's all that is offered, then I think the manufacturer is being very chintzy. These are expensive items, I want to see some choice. No excitement on the dashboard either. Sport should mean something: I want to see some gauges and dashboard design depth. Some 3D design where the gauges are. Something like engine-turned dashboard trim. Some interesting use of wood maybe? The other thing: I would rather not have the moonroof. It's expensive and I don't use it. Make it optional, not included. For the consumers who don't want it, it would be doing them a solid by removing it as standard. All goes to having some choice in what is a major purchase.

    I love the 2019 model, I drive my Uncles a lot and he has troubles driving anymore. He has the 2.0 limited model himself. The front and rear of this model looks great, actually looks best in class from those angles imo. The side of the car is long in the tooth, basically the same profile all the way back to the 2015. That said, WAIT! Unless you get some super crazy discount it would be worth it. Otherwise you will miss out in the new Sonata that will easily be best in class, look wise inside and out. The design and technology in the new 2020 will be having all the competition COPYING the following year. The only thing I'm disappointed with is the power. I myself will wait a while as I hear they will be releasing a Sonata with around or above 300 hp.
