    This is amazing! Could you please make guide sheets for 1.1mm and 1.5mm nibs since some of us are learning italic calligraphy to do with fountain pens?

    Fantastic set of tutorials. Can you please upload the guideline used in this video? It seems a little different from the other guidelines you have uploaded.

    • @CosmasAdrianCalligraphy
      @CosmasAdrianCalligraphy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh you can still use the guidelines I have uploaded. You can do all the basic strokes on the x-height space and it will be the same :)

    Great tutorial! I am learning a lot. I always go back and review all your videos. May I ask what brand of nib and holder you use?

    Thanks for the tutorials. The best I've found. I am having a hard time following the written instruction captions while practicing. They simply flash on and off too quickly for me. Are all the captions written in one place in full? Thank you.

    • @CosmasAdrianCalligraphy
      @CosmasAdrianCalligraphy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your kind words! I'm sorry about the captions, for now I don't have them as a handout or so. So, my suggestion is to pause and read the instruction first and then continue to see how to do it.
      I'm really sorry, I'll make it easier to catch the instruction for the next tutorial, maybe with the voice over.

    May I ask what nib type and size you used on the fountain pen please? I have a stub nib on a fountain pen and hope to try this style of writing.

    • @CosmasAdrianCalligraphy
      @CosmasAdrianCalligraphy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm sorry but I don't use fountain pen. But maybe you can try to look for flat nib, not the stub one. I will recommend you 3 or 4 mm width for practicing, but I guess it's hard to find nib that big for fountain pen unless it is Pilot Parallel Pen

    May i ask which paper do you use for water based ink (Fountain pen ink)? I mean type of paper and weight?

    • @CosmasAdrianCalligraphy
      @CosmasAdrianCalligraphy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It basically depends on what ink you use, but I use 80gsm HVS for all of these videos and for practicing. Sometimes I also use Marker Pad though it is thinner but it holds ink better.

    • @AAtaman
      @AAtaman 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CosmasAdrianCalligraphy Thank you for the answer. I have one last question, I appreciate if you can answer it. Referring to HVS, does gsm make any difference? I mean using 110-120 gsm HVS will make any difference to quality of writing with water based inks.
      P.S - I use Pilot Parallel pens 4 different size for calligraphy.

    • @CosmasAdrianCalligraphy
      @CosmasAdrianCalligraphy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course it does. Thicker paper has more "power" to hold up ink on it. If you are using pilot parallel pen, I suggest you to go with thicker paper, because pilot ink is rather thin in consistency so it will spread more easily when touch the paper and causes bleeding in thinner paper (lower gsm).
      I think 100-120 gsm HVS paper is good to go. Or again you can try marker pad (though it is thinner, it holds ink better than HVS paper) or watercolor paper

    Typical! Printable guidelines do NOT match what the instructor is using in the video!
