Hey Courtney, I have a few questions about the BatBlock25. 1. The Kings blurb says it’s good for a 120amp Lithium battery and I wondered if that means I could run two Kings 120amp lithium batteries in parallel safely or would that blow it all up. 2. I understand it has a 25amp dcdc charger and Kings recommends the 25amp wiring kit but is also selling a 50 amp wiring package, should I go with the 25amp or 50amp kit running cable from the starter battery to the BatBlock25 in my Ute bed. 3. Can you lay it on its side, end etc? I’m thinking of setting it up inside a 4WD storage box sat permanently in a Ute bed. Thanks.
Hi there, Thanks for your questions! Unfortunately you would not be able to wire the lithium batteries in parallel You can use either the 25A or 50A wiring kit, but you would get less voltage drop with the 50A! You are able to laythe battery box / lithium battery on their side. Cheers, Courtney
Hi there, Unfortunately we only have the prebuild units in our range, though I've sent your interest through to our product team so they know there's interest. Cheers, Andrew
This is awesome just got one a few days ago. Quick question guys I also have a 60AH battery in its battery box from Kings. Is there a way where I can link both battery boxes together so I can charge both batteries. Would I be able to charge my 60Ah battery by using the hight power battery terminals on the batblock ?
Hi there, Thank you for the comment, it is, or is close enough as we've added some improvements and refined some of the components specifically for this design so it runs even better than the old DIY unit we put together. Cheers, Andrew
Hi there, Unfortunately the unit wouldn't be designed for that type of charging, while you could charge the battery separately with an AC to DC charger. Regards, Andrew
Whats stops the dc dc charger from over heating in the tight area? Also looks like there is no ventilation for that heat to escape. needs 150mm space all.round the dc dc charger according to the manual
Hi there, Thank you for the question, by cutting down the system, and having it directly integrated there is less area of resistance and far less heat generated, on top of this the unit is ventilated to keep everything normalised. Regards, Andrew
2:40 I want to connect the alternator wiring to the batblock but there is a small blue wire to connect to the key crank, so which wire should I connect to?
Hi there, You connect the blue wire to a fuse with a piggy back fuse adapter in the fuse box that only has power when the vehicle is on. Regards, Courtney
good idea 1. So nothing stopping us hooking up a solar panel with its own charge controller straight to the input/output anderson plugs.. and leaving the solar input one for a roof mounted smaller panel..? 2. be good to see more on the physical tie down supports
I think this is at this point in time the only true 12/240v capable portable power unit which has in-build DC/DC charge using Anderson input with options to upgrade battery capacity.
Hi there, Thank you for the comment, while it is unfortunately only able to take 12v inputs via the labelled input sections, in regards to fire resistance, the unit is compartmentalised to reduce any damages caused by a short or items being wired in incorrectly. Regards, Andrew
Hi. looks very neat! Can you recharge the BatBlock on the go using just your car cigarette 12 volt output to one of the input anderson plugs and can you charge it with a Victron 12volt smart charger via the alligator clips to your positive and negative terminals.? Cheers.
Hi there, While it unfortunately doesn't have a cigarette input port, there are alternator inputs on the unit you could use to charge via the vehicle alternator that would fit the same bill via a different approach. Regards, Andrew
Hi there, Thank you for the follow up, we certainly have done some looking into making it available outside of Aus so I wouldn't rule it out yet! Regards, Andrew
Hi there, Thank you for your comment. This should be fine as long as this has a lithium or AGM charging profile depending on your battery type. Regards, Courtney
If you watch the full video, it mentions that currently the biggest is 120ah - but in the future with technology advances and batteries getting smaller but having more amp hours, it could mean that you could have a larger ah battery in there ;)
Sorry beginner here. Can you run the 3000 watt inverter with this if you had the 120 p lithium battery in it? In the videos they say up to 1500 watt but I noticed there's a bundle with the 3000 watt online.
@@frysee8890 I saw that 3000 watt bundle also. I don't think one should try running that big an inverter with a 120ah lithium. Nor should they really be selling it as a bundle (to avoid confusion) if this does 1500 watts max. But double check with Kings of course :) What are you trying to run that you need 3000 watts for?
There 120ah batteries will only pull 120amps. You can use the 3000w inverter however only appliances that use under 1500watts. Seems pointless. Better off just buying there 1500w inverter. Even the 120ah battery is maxed out running that
Toaster, kettle, hair dryer... All have 2k watts on them or thereabouts. I assume I'd have to buy appliances with 1500 watts or less then for the 1500 inverter?
@@frysee8890 nah you can use your regular appliances and a 3000w inverter. Just need a battery or bank of batteries big enough to draw the correct amount of amperage. Also the wiring supplied with the new battery box wouldn’t be anywhere near the size (thickness) required for the 3000w inverter. Basically they are happy to bundle shit together to think your getting a bargain when in fact it can’t even be used together in conjunction
Hi there, You can purchase a cig socket to anderson plug from our website so you are able to plug this into the anderson connection on our batblock, but unfortunately this wouldn't be the most efficent way of charging as the amperage wouldn't be anywhere near as high as you would get from a solar panel. Regards, Courtney
⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡I live with no gas, no grid electricity, I don't light fires - I just use portable (all in one) power stations and solar to charge up everything. I'm looking to add (non all in one power) to my power supplies soon. I've done significant research into available options (Kickass, Ecoflow, Bluetti etc), so this is genuinely exciting for me to see today. Best in price point currently (even when not on special) that is (almost) plug and play, can have an up to 120 amp hour battery - and battery is replaceable. And having the connections for the inverter (also separate) is great. Better than a portable all in one power station where the whole heavy thing has to be sent back if there's an issue that could be minor (I had to pack up and send an 18kg one back and it was apparently just a loose bearing!!!!!). The high voltage connections for use of an up to 1500 watt inverter are great. Portable power stations may look cheaper, more appealing - but keep in mind the amp hours of them are often less, as are the number of times they can be recharged - and they sometimes do stupid things - so it's important to note that. I love my Kings solar panels (see my video!) and drawer fridge (video upcoming), and will be adding to my collection soon :) Thanks very much for making this! PS - can you please please please please please make a Kings drawer fridge that goes down to -18. I really really love it, but not suitable for me with regards to being a freezer as it needs to be a little colder. ⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡ PS if you want to see how I live, the ABC did a story on me - just look up Alys Norseman ABC :) PPS - can you show me what read outs that screen has (eg watts being used, amps/watts coming in, percentage left of battery? I do have another battery box, but prefer the read outs I get on my portable power stations.
@mahindramasterman I've seen and researched almost every type of portable power station. I want ones that are not all in one, but easy enough to plug and play :)
The cad design used is fancier than the box! definitely a improvement over the old one! But I agree to high a price for really what are cheap components! Que the people with Kings derangement syndrome to pile on! 😂
Surely they are going to make these for the slimline range. Please! 🙏

Quick Robin, use the Batblock !
Can I use a lithium battery that has a capacity higher than 120ah as long as it physically fits within the bat box?
Do you have to bypass solar regulator on solar panel to run solar panel
Hi there,
The built in DCDC charger includes a regulation feature.

Wish this was available before I put in a 12v system thru kings.
I told you to go 24v

Do you have to connect any wires to the alternator with unit as I am considering getting one for to use in the company work ute. (I don't own it).

This is not necessary, however we would recommend a 25A wiring kit if you were wanting to connect this to your alternator.

I think it needs another cig socket as without changing cords to a different plug it will only power 1 fridge or freezer.
