Excellent overview - Is it possible to increase the number of inputs in BOR ? I am trying to create First Out logic. If I can have about 32 inputs then I can connect all alarms to BOR and determine the first out.
Also Show an example of let's say a scale with parameters instruction scaling a 4 -20ma 0-150 Psi pressure transmitter raw input values 4ma=6553=0 psi | 20ma=32767=150 Psi. with a PID control instruction in function block format let's see how that looks opposed to Ladder logic.
Plus trouble shooting this function block programming seems like a nightmare scenario. By this i mean since many programmers are very unorganized. I can see people pulling their hair out trying to reverse engineer fucntionblock programming to find issues.
Great tutorial. Thanks!
How does the FB routine scan? the same as a LD routine? How does the routine know which block to scan first?

You could sequence BANDs and/or BOR to get the same result.
What if function block diagram isnt there in type?
@Dan Staifer, Do you have any example of Lead-Lag (LDLG) and Deadtime (DEDT)?
I don't
Can you use indirect addressing in Function Block Programming?
I haven't tried it but I don't see why not
Thanks!
