I use gun cleaning brushes that look similar to toothbrushes but have softer metal bristles for cleaning those caked pivot screws. Then you can lightly polish those washers to new and sometimes I find a baking soda and water mixed paste with paper towel does wonders on minor rust/corrosion ! Try that on the blade tang where the washers were.
5:15 maybe to get rid of lock over travel. I sent a strider at the beginning of the year for over lock face over travel. They replaced the blade studs with larger diameter studs which completely fixed my lock up problem.
Personally, I use a feeler that has a small hole drilled in it that matches the OEM height and then uses that to set over the ball to better set the depth. Not being an ass just saying it makes it where you don't have to second guess yourself.
Lovely stuff my man, it’s always nice to see you just going to work without equipment that cost almost as much as the knives lol hope you have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful NewYear 🫵😘👍
@@edged_mindset To me, it works well for cleaning and lubing, is food safe and actually smells nice. I like that they offer a Light version (which I use on OTFs) and a Heavy one (for balisongs) too. My only issue with this stuff is the price. It is rather expensive and I go through multiple bottles a year.
That compound, chisel, with a hollow grind is nuts... I LOVE IT
I know right

Good call!
Great video! I’ve never messed with a detent ball but now I’m side-eyeing some candidates. 😂
😅

DO NOT LOCTITE THE PIVOT!!! 😂
😅
Are you doing this video for me ❤ lmfao 🤣 your always the best
😅
ahh the classic fucked with lockface on a strider. Never ceases to make me laugh ive been there plenty of times
Yeah?
What was that tool you used to hold the pivot? Also, where could a man get one🤔 great video! Not everyday you see someone working on a strider
👊 Monkey Edge will sometimes have them. I think there are some China made ones on eBay as well. I have had kine for many years
@edged_mindset thanks, I'll definitely check it out

That would definitly be the proper way to do it!
@edged_mindset never had a content creator so involved in their comments. Good on you, sir.
@IkandT 😀👊 Benefits of being small I guess!
The beauty is, even if you messed up….it could only improve a strider
😅
The chipmunk voice 🤣
😅

A little reckless probably 😆
Where did you get that pivot tool? The one I bought does not have the center punch, and slips out scratching the scale.
I can't even remember. I have had it for 10 years or so
Might do that to my borka it only would get better
If it's an actual Borka it should already have a ceramic detent ball. Unless it's a really old one maybe
@edged_mindset old one, pre pivot ring model early 2017.
@nOObels1 👊
NICE!!
I have that same tin!
😀
People hate KPL? Why?
Good question! I'm not sure if they hate it in general, just the people that watched my Strider SMF takedown video

@Prizrak-hv6qk I had no idea it was food safe. Good to know
KPL once sued a smaller knife lube company bc they used a similar looking bottle. Put a bad taste in the knife community's mouths.
@@hityoutwo Interesting. Yet, the same community loves to support a company which patented a round hole. :)
