The start climbing out of the oil she does a perfect simulation of what it’s like for birds stuck in oil slicks giving the beginning feel for this being about the environment. The. Following with burning- being from Australia, this part of the song hits home - things burning down around us & people ignoring the lessons Billie is pointing out in this song🤔…one of my faves

Side note: while her produced videos are great, where she really bears her soul is during live performances. Personal favorites include her BBC performances and her acoustic concert at the Steve Jobs theater.
She and her brother are true performance artists, super creative, and excellent musician/singers. Really stellar talents. Just do not see that in most mainstream, industry created music these days; it really stands out.
