    Man I am a big fan of you guys but it looks like you need to get closer, a lot of bad shots on this hunt. Love the emotion of finally getting it done! Good job

      I don’t think he needed to get closer he just needed to shoot his gun be for the hunt

      @Schy Mark Bowhunters have entered the chat: "500 yards? I'll give you 50"

    • @xanderarena
      @xanderarena 4 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      Schy Mark I hunt this country too and there’s definitely room to close the distances. Yeah they’re skittish, but you can put on the stalk. Shoot 500+ if your hitting vitals, unfortunately that’s not demonstrated in these examples, so imo... unless you’re into injuring animals, and inspiring others to do the same... dial in the marksmanship or close the distance.

    • @rowanremington6086
      @rowanremington6086 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I mean the average guy is not going to shoot 500 yards but him with his gear 500 should be like cutting butter

    • @rowanremington6086
      @rowanremington6086 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s what ever everyone makes mistakes especially while hunting so u never just need practice but luck plus you are right I’m just saying if I were to do it with any weapon it would use his gear

    You guys gotta get closer this is ridiculous. Prey that the lord will give you the patience to hunt that little bit more ethical. You guys do everything so ethically until the shot.

      Schy Mark would you take a 22 rim fire rifle and go and hunt coues deer with it? No you would not because the equipment wasn’t designed for it. The rifles they have are more then capable of shooting long range but the most important piece of equipment is not as they proved it in the video, themselves. So if you can’t shoot that far then what do you do? You be ethical about it and try to close the distance doesn’t matter what you are hunting. If the game gets away then so be it. Shoot to your capabilities show respect to the game. This concept is lost in hunters today. The sniping generation.

    • @xanderarena
      @xanderarena 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Schy Mark we spotted a coues this hunt at 1000yrds at 15:30 and scrambled down a canyon and out onto a finger, shot was 680yrds... so we found a cut in a cliff, dropped down, made it to a wash and closed to 350 to close the deal with plenty of light to spare. It took an extra 15-20 min to gain that extra 300 yards and the deer didn’t feel a thing. For me, I knew that 600+ shot woulda been a train wreck, so I didn’t take it.

    Time for some videos with you guys at the range.
    Furthermore, if you guys know longer distances are going to be had on the hunt, would it be useful to bring along better gun support (rear support, etc.)?

    Every hunting channel on youtube that has been around for any length of time has wounded an animal or two. It happens to all of us who hunt in real life on occasion. Buuuuutttt ..........
    It happens to the people who run this channel WAY too often in my opinion. Not looking to offend anyone but when you're consistently wounding animals, over and over and over again, maybe some more thought needs to be put into shot selection. I haven't counted them up but I'm pretty sure in the past 3 years or so there must be at least 7 or 8 "hard-luck" stories of a bad shot that didn't end with a clean kill. At some point, it starts to be more than bad luck and it becomes an issue of bad decision-making.
    Just my personal opinion, again, to each his/her own. That's my two cents.

    • @WaPiTiChAsEr
      @WaPiTiChAsEr 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      I agree, these guys can’t get out of their own way in the bad decision making area. Makes guys who do it the right way look very bad, quite frankly what these guys choose to do is selfish, arrogant and egotistical.
      They need to go get some real long range shooting training by a reputable provider and then take that training to the range and practice practice practice.
      Sometimes in life people need to hear about themselves, look in the mirror to understand what they are doing is wrong. No one is perfect, but posting video after video of making the same mistakes over and over again is frustrating.

    For the smallest "big game" species in the West, these deer present an incredible challenge. I think you guys have an easier time putting down a big bull elk with a bow, than these little ghosts. They are almost "the undead"...hard to kill, let alone find in the first place. The emotion after this harvest says it all.

    Eric, your the kind of hunter I want to learn from, I appreciate the gut wrenching honesty. More importantly I appreciate the humanness and how hard it is to get back on the horse so to speak to help your friend achieve success. No shame dear sir, you most definitely can hold your head up high, you display the highest integrity and bring honor to the world of hunting. Thank you for teaching the lesson, God Bless. Thanks to all of you, Jordan, Ben, and that camera guy lmbo. Thanks Martin for all the great shots of Gods beauty, the bob cat vs doe was AWESOME!

    Congratulations man.....you got it done. Just from a ton of coues deer experience...its a must that you get within 300 yards even 200 yards when possible....it is possible....practice makes perfect...you guys would love to spot and stalk within 300 yards...puts another level of accomplishment...we've had deer run over a mile with two rounds in him with the 30-06....shot needs to be perfect. ALWAYS....but good shit showing everything hunting is....its tough sometimes 👊

    • @twolf1693
      @twolf1693 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @Schy Mark no, but I know people kill them with bows, so I know it's possible to get closer than 500 yards. I wouldn't take a 500 yards shot at a big Midwest whitetail, let alone a 90 lb coues.

    It’s easy to be a critic when all the realities of a hunt are shared. I appreciate that there are replies to these comments and hope that not all constructive criticism is viewed as hate or divisive. We all own our decisions and actions in the field. The theme in the feedback given is humility, practice and taking high probability shots. I have learned from every hunt I have been on and I think we can all learn from this series as well. Keep learning from your adventures, the feedback and please continue to share it all. A saying I embrace - A good marksman can make a 1000 yard shot but a good hunter never needs too. Thanks for sharing you experiences. Makes me want to go to AZ!

    I like seeing how all of your faith plays a part in your lives no matter what/where and with whom you may be. Well said, Ben. Congratulations Jordan! I felt for you. I could see the angst in your expression after the first shot and how upset it made you to know the deer was hit but still alive. It was clear just how grateful you were to have Eric, Ben and Martin along side you, just as Eric had surely been the day before. The fact that you felt badly that Eric's deer never materialized goes to show what a class friend you are. That second shot was a great one. Instant kill, I would say. You are one heck of a marksman, Jordan. Congrats again. Heather🇨🇦

    Major respect to Ben for not being ashamed to ask for help from on high! I recovered a cow elk 2 years ago because of divine help. Every hunt I go on I try to make a spiritual experience. I found that humility inspiring! 👍👍👍

    I've been watching you guys for years and I have enjoyed 99% of the videos, but this year was tough. Between this hunt, Casey's father-in-laws elk hunt and even Casey's fathers mule deer hunt, the shooting was TERRIBLE. Us hunters are having a hard enough time keeping the anti-hunters from convincing the non hunting public and the politicians that we are ethical and responsible conservationists, but these examples really don't help us. If you can't get close enough to take an ethical shot don't do it, no matter how Expensive or powerful the gun. I hope next year gets back to the Hush video's we all love to watch.

    Ahh Lads.....WTF! So thats 3 for 3 videos of you guys taking terrible shots. Even the first vids with the "misses' is a sign of your lack of knowledge about this type of rifle hunting.
    Eric 'femoral artery.... guts and stuff' .... you imply that's a good shot. You unnessecerly wounded that animal and couldn't make a immediate follow up shot to humanly finish the animal. This is why long range shooting of animals in those conditions is a piss poor option over stalking in closer. If you had even tried to half the distance your first shot would have struck home and if you did need a follow up then a secound would have been almost instantaneous.

    Congratulations on scoring a grey ghost. I have hunted those mountains in my younger days, not an easy feat at all. 350 yards was the closest I was ever able to get on a grey ghost. Once you get one you will know the emotion going through your person. Until then, quit the hating on people. Jordan @ MTNOPS, Eric Chesser I would hunt with you both any day you are available.

    Praying to the most high. Much respect ✊ Guys. That’s what it’s really all about for me. Spending time with friends and family. If we get one great if not that’s ok too. Hit a little far back but he was hammered by the way he walked. Nice far shot and that last one drilled him.
