I have watched most, if not all of your Magic Mixer tutorials. I think I am finally understanding the amazing power of the Magic Mixer. Thanks for creating multiple tutorials, it takes more than one demo to learn. Thanks Dave!

Dave - this is a terrific video. I do not think I will ever resort to Silver Efex Pro again for B&W conversion. Thanks to you and to Tony Kuyper!!

Outstanding! As usual, your explanations make everything more & more understandable. Love it. (not to mention all of Tony’s panels) Keep ‘em coming. Can’t wait to do more experimentation. Thanks so much!

Why did you use Blend If for painting the shadows? Couldn't you have used a luminosity mask?

To create the best B&W image, is it better to start with a basic minimally adjusted color image like you do for a color image to be color corrected/adjusted (like typical Fri Joy of Edits)?
Or, better to start with an already fully color corrected image? and Why?
or does it not matter at all? or does it depend on the image and your final use/design?

I've done it both ways and have achieved great results. However, I prefer to work with a pre-processed color image. The TK Magic Mixer does rely on the colors in the image and I think it's easier to create a black and white conversion from an already processed image.
