Great video, very beautifull, congrats, so amazing the areas you crop, I'm a farmer in France we grow wheat with high yields on very small farms compared to Australia, I'm alone on 70 ha😀 so different system and scale
I spent 3 months harvesting with Brian and Mark Spink from Goondiwindi in 2003 , we started harvesting west of Goondiwindi on the farms of Tom Woods , Billa Billa and Mount Carmel , big farms and moved south gradually over the next few months ending up in Victoria , it was amazing experience for a young Irish man coming from a small dairy farm , I wonder if Brian and Mark still harvest grain? they are from Goondiwindi, would be in there sixties now I think
Would give anything forca chance to participate in harvest there one time. Retired farmer from US in philippines now. Miss the harvest grew up on a combine starting at 6 years old now 76 missing it.
I don’t think it would be too hard! You could always come and ask to sit in on a farm, I’m sure there would be someone that wouldn’t mind a chat while doing some laps around the paddock!
@@vaughnandkobie I don't want to sit on the paddock want to get into the harvest run a combine grain cart or semi done it all and still can. Only reason I retired do to wifes health needing 24 7 care.
These guys run heaps of ploughs over their fields when fertilising and deep ripping when required. Its black soil country so its a bit different out there. They alternate fields between Sorghum and wheat. They do get rested every few years too
I am from India I have harvesters and tractors in my home country and I have experience about 15-16 years I love machinery I have done B-tech in mechanical engineering I want to know about wheat farming is good for earning in perth wa I want to buy a land 500-1000 acres is good for starting what is the price of wheat in Australia Give me details please Thanks
That's a hard question to answer! It depends on the season and how much rain you get. On a good year depending on rainfall you might get 3t per hectare and wheat prices also vary depending on demand but might get $400A per tonne if it's going really good
@@vaughnandkobiewhere do I find such farms? Ive done a (small) wheat harvest in South-Africa in 2022, but would like to go to australia to harvest this season.
Fabulous Video, thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it!

3 months is a decent amount of harvesting time! I'm sure they're still out there somewhere and you probably can't get them off the harvest!
I never realized how much work goes into farming Respect

Hello
TOO HANDS BOI!
I never knew Australia had agricultural crops
Australia was built on cropping and farming!
@@vaughnandkobie me and a chemical rep were sitting in duck blinds 2 days ago and he was telling me bout the wheat in Australia,,,lol I never knew
Haha! Sometimes it's hard to know what goes on all over the world!
what did you actually think we did in Australia?
Some people are intellectually disabled.
you guys take a 17 year old for harvest 2024
We are workers ourselves! You would have to apply! Farmers would give anyone a go that is willing to have a try

This farm is in central Queensland. NSW and Victoria also have big farms too
@@vaughnandkobie do you know any farms that are looking for drivers with the 2024 harvest?
Unfortunately not but there are Facebook groups you can post on to find work. Harvest jobs Australia is a good start!
