Pontins Ainsdale and the former Toad hall (Ainsdale on sea) complex by Drone.

Pontins still lives on…..in Ainsdale (Southport), much maligned and from the air it has a prison vibe to it - providing affordable holidays to thousands is it’s aim.
Alongside it is the former Toad Hall nightclub, the place to be seen in the 80’s…..also part of the failed Ainsdale on sea development where the aim was to use the building as holiday apartments, there was some success early on but with the onset of cheap package holidays it’s days where numbered! Now recently painted with a lizard mural at a cost of 10K to the local taxpayers, opinion is definitely divided on whether it has improved the area as much as the painters bank balance!
