  • Dinosaurs Size Comparison: Tyrannosaurids | Extinct Deadly Animals - this video presents members of the Tyrannosauroidea Family including species such as the famous Tyrannosaurus rex (featured in Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies), Albertosaurus, Gorgosaurus, Daspletosaurus, and many others not so well-known to the vast public. All of these animals lived near the end of the Cretaceous Period and their fossils have been found mainly in North America and Asia.

    The dinosaurs are represented by their average size (throughout multiple sources) and their appearance is an artistic interpretation.

    1. Raptorex- invalid. Juvenile of Tarbosaurus.
    2. Nanotyrannus- invalid. Juvenile of T. rex.
    3. Alamotyrannus- dubious. Possibly Tyrannosaurus mcraeensis.

      Nanotyrannus now a separate species

      That's right, there is a published research from January 2024 describing the differences between Nanotyrannus and T-rex explaining why they were probably different species.

    A very visually stimulating animation of a size comparison of all the theropod dinosaurs called Tyrannosaurids with a cavewoman for the extra visual effect!

    Nanotyrannus is still considered invalid, even most recent papers that try to argue that it is have been called into question, and most paleontologists are still skeptical about it.

      @maluslikescoffee3690 Yes, after a comment under this video about it, I decided to go deeper into research and I saw that this is the opinion in general but there still scientists that are on the opinion that it is a separate species due to body composition of the Nanotyrannis, compared to T Rex.

    Where is Dryptosaurus? Also a Daspleteosaurus should be larger than Albertosaurus.

    • @gvart
      @gvart  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I missed the Dryptosaurus, that's right. Daspleteosaurus and Albertosaurus are believed to be roughly the same size. Daspletosaurus is believed to be a bit heavier and the Albertosaus a bit longer. This is how I presented them in the video.
