    These interviews are the most fascinating thing ever. It is so amazing to get a glimpse of the personality behind these wonderful frageances. I have not yet had the opportunity of smelling Francesca Bianchis works. And now of course I can not wait to try them. I love how she came back from Marrakech with all these cheap perfume oils. I understand her so well! I would do absolutely the same thing.
    Btw you intuitively pronounce my name perfectly.

    Francesca's work is potent alchemy for me; i have to employ it "in a homeopathic way" with the smallest amount packing the biggest punch, otherwise i'm lost, subsumed in a big cloak which covers over my own subtle qualities. I appreciate how i have to "pay close attention" when i approach your creations, co-conspiring with you when i play your fragrant tunes! Thanks Francesca and Persolaise...

    Fantastic interview. I agree with her criteria of a good perfume; it has to make me uou feel something. If I find myself analyzing the notes it means I'm not moved. Also interesting that music is another love of hers. Music has the ability to bypass the logical mind and shift our mood instantly. Her perfumes have the same effect on me.

    Just sampling Bianchi’s work and OMG I am absolutely loving it!
    Incredibly complex, dark and heavy and so tightly blended! Seems like Francesca decided to throw away the commercial aspects of the frag business and simply decided to go with her vision, kind of super niche…am absolutely in love!
    Only complaint (which is common with all higher conc) - projects low / close to skin.
    But she certainly nailed the longevity massively so love that! I mean between low projection and high longevity, I would take high longevity everytime.

    Wonderful interview, very very interesting to learn so much about Francesca’s work and vision. Also nice to learn where her taste developed from because being a punky girl of thirteen, saving up money from odd jobs, I also bought those same perfumes, and I still have and adore them: Poison, and Opium, Chanels Coco, Shalimar ❤️
    Currently I am trying scents from her Mars sample set and having a real hard time deciding which one to buy, because they are all so mesmerizing and wonderful!

    I find Francesca Bianchi an adorable personality. She's intelligent, perceptive and touchingly modest.
    I've tried three of her perfumes; unfortunately none of them suited my skin chemistry. I was surprised and disappointed. I had chosen carefully scents which had my favourite notes in them. It's possible though that my nose was too inexperienced for such strong stuff at that time. I think I'll give FB perfumes a new go at some point.

    I also love cheap oils or specifically “attars” from say a brand like Ajmal. They can be cheap, blends but still so fantastic.

    Wish I could be there live today, but work had to take precedence! Her body of work (at least so far) has a very distinct DNA; I am yet to really fall in love w/ one of her creations. That said, no one can claim she is not "niche"!!! Also, I find a distinct identity divide between French and Italian perfumes, and perhaps I have to give it up and admit I favor the subtlety of Frech perfumery. Another great interview!

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it's interesting that she cited 'subtlety' as one of the points of difference between French and Italian.

    Missed the livestream but I would be interested in her ethical stance on her perfume ingredients. My understanding is she uses real animal ingredients like civet which are obtained by inhumane means from captive animals in terrible conditions. I requested more information directly but no reply. I think perfumers should be transparent so consumers can make an informed choice.

    • @francescabianchiperfumes3831

      Hello Yoshi, I am sorry and troubled to read this, because I actually made a point about replacing natural civet and castoreum recently, and got even criticised for that. I made a very precise statement about animal-derived products in my website, in the page Sustainability and Ethics, please go and check. That page is there since last year! We always reply to all questions, with special care on this topic as it has been the center of my attention in the last year. The products that are I am now selling DO NOT contain natural civet and castoreum. I invite you to resend me your email as it is strange we missed it, but be sure to get the official information via the website.
