Thank you so for this! I have been studying functional groups for a few days now and I wasn’t still able to identify sample structures from each group until I found your video. Appreciate the simple and understandable explanation. This will surely help me for my upcoming exam 🥹❤️
Unfortunately, most organic chemistry lessons in my language (Portuguese) here on TH-cam aren't very good. I was getting kinda desperate because my exam is coming soon, but now I'm glad that I found this video (and that I can understand English). I wish I could share this with my Brazilian classmates. Too bad they have a very bad English. But this definitely helped me. Thank you!
As you related: Ketone to aldehyde, carboxylic acids to ester, I would like to relate ether to alcohol where in ether, the Hydrogen is replaced by R (-OH in alcohol and -OR in ether), very useful video
Very helpful. I appreciate you putting this up. And I laughed to myself with how nonchalant the ending is. "Hope that was helpful.Alright, peace."

you have a mistake in the amine group - you should have written H2, not only one Hin the main drawing
Very good way to learn groups!!! Big thank you to the author!!!

No wait she's doctor now ig
@@spaceboy1362 lol Yes I did get my answer rather quickly after that post. Luckily that answer got me into medical school
Since I don't see any answer in 7 year. The R stands for the rest of the carbon chain.

Peace🎉 tysm
what about Ketone?
Nice....
وحش والله ❤️❤️❤️❤️
awesome
Thank you but what do the "r" stands for...im sorry I miss it
R stands for either Carbon or Hydrogen group
the R stands for other carbons, so instead of writing c-c-c-c.. you replace that with R
R=radical
he said can be carbon or hydrogen
The R is a placeholder, which is usually hydrogen or a hydrocarbon side chain attached to it.
