Nice finds. I love Fairport Convention, at least their 60s/early 70s stuff. My buddy here in Stockholm had an original Jeremy Harmer once, I had the chance to buy it when he was letting it go, but for various reasons I didn't go for it (the price being one) 😊 Cheers!
Hi 👋 That B52 's album i bought back in 1979. I have it on cd now. I like Planet Claire from it. They made a comeback ten years later with an album titled Cosmic Thing in 1989 , which gave them a huge international hit called Love Shack. You manage to pick up some interesting vinyl. Many of the musicians i have never heard of.
I've always been a sucker for female vocals. So, yeah, that Janelle Richie albums is quite high on my want list. You're probably the first on YT to show it. So thanks for that.
I just discovered an excellent record store 30 minutes west of me here in NJ. Turns out Iain Matthews from Fairport Convention (he is on the album you showed) played there a few days earlier. Go figure. And that B-52's album is awesome.
Oh yes... The B-52's! Fun tongue 'n cheek stuff indeed! There was a time, here in the U.K. at least, when Athens, Georgia related bands became a little trendy. (the Athens Sound). Pylon were a great band, and Mitch Easter, although from North Carolina, had a lot to do with various Athens bands production-wise etc. His own band Let's Active were pretty cool too.
I'm not too interested in owning Drake on vinyl. There's been originals sitting at my shop for months now. I've come around to appreciate his work though.
Derek what is your private press collection count up to? And have you ever gone to a folk festival yourself? There is one event every summer down the road from my place, called the Mariposa Folk Festival here in Ontario but I have yet to go
I guess I don't really calculate how many private releases I have. They all kind of vary, but I've definitely slowed down as far as focusing in that area. I'm not a festival/concert going listener really. Maybe if I'm involved DJ-ing on the side like this past weekend.
Cool finds and branching out is ok. Thanks for sharing Derek.
Nice finds, you folkie! The first two B-52's is all you need. Miss your live shows.
At least I'm not a jazz bum, eh? I'm waiting for our live session with Mr. B.
Great finds, man!

Derek, I'm not familiar with any of these, but I'm looking forward to part 2.
New AA video up tomorrow. Hopefully I can shoot part 2 this week.
The guy on the orange album cover (at 7:55 in) is practically your doppelganger 😂
True.
Great to see you!Do you like bow wow wow?Thank you!Man mouintain is a great tune!
I gave that a listen earlier. Not too bad.
Apparently rock lobster was a favourite of John Lennon as he thought it sounded like a yoko Ono song 😂
I mean, I can hear it too! 😂
Speaking of Folk,do you have anything by Nick Drake?

Aw....you moved or took down your Altered States poster! I love that movie.
But a "Wake In Fright" poster though...just as gnarly. Gotta mix it up.

Trees and Fairport Convention!!
Have you changed your taste of music to more folkrock style?
Your Swedish follower.....
I've always enjoyed folk. It just happened to be everything I've picked up recently. Don't share enough as much as I used to.
Go Derek
