I need to improve my light conditions and sound in the future. Hope you still like the content anyway and thanks for the support!

Hi - good first impressions. Now that you've had them for a few months, do you still recommend them? I also exclusively use Altras and have been a big fan of the Lone Peak All-WTHR (on my 3rd pair) but am looking for something a bit more "all-wthr" . Despite its name, the All-WTHR provides minimal protection from puddles or even marshy grass. Make that no protection after, invariably, a hole develops by the big toe crease. If you've had the Lone Peaks I'd be interested in fit comparison. Also, on the Altra web site, there have been complaints that the tongue on this shoe is too wide and causes blistering on the balls of the ankle - I know you responded that you hadn't had this issue. Is that still the case? Thanks a bunch.

Sorry for the late reply. I just came from Norway hiking 80km in the mountains in these Timps. I had like at least 50 streams to go over jumping on rocks that are sometimes under the water. Also it did rain a lot and i first thought taking trailrunners with me but if i have to use rain gear, i like to use GTX shoes too. It was a good decision to take Timp Hiker. No wet socks or feet. Norwegian trails are really wet in early summer. The shoes felt better after giving some real beating in a rough terrain as i have been testing these only in urban trail conditions before. Usually Altra shoes dont need break in but i felt these needed a bit and the shoe felt better after real hiking for couple days. I am more happy about the shoe after this trip.

Nice review! I recently bought the regular Timp Hiker and am happy using it casually. Although it can get pretty wet here in northern Germany, I don't think I'll need the goretex, but the green one is 🔥

The advantage of the non goretex is that it does not have leather? So if you don't like to use animal products.

I am in UK but I like US sizing which seems more consistent. I take US 14 in Oboz, La Sportiva, Hoka and Zamberlan. That translates to EU 48 or 48.5. I am a slightly wide foot and get the wide variant if available. I think this is your size too. I looked at Altra web site and various retailers and the advice for me varies from UK12 to UK 14. They can't all be right. What size do you take in other sports or hiking footwear and do you find Altra quite wide? Thank you.

I usually have my shoes in EU size 48-49. Only Altras I order by the US size. US14 is 49. Altras are wider than other brands I have used. Closer to barefoot shoes. Altra has three fits and the middle one is mostly best for me but I actually have shoes in all the fits. Check the Altra size guide. They usually advise to go bigger than usually. www.altrarunning.eu/eu/size-guide/

I use Altras exclusively but when I used other shoes it was 48-49. I have a big toe space in every shoe. Minimum 15mm room for toes.

Thank you. I spoke to two retailers who gave different advice. Tricky!

Looking at other reviews, they say the tongue is not waterproof.
It is said that the gusset on the tongue rubs the ankle and causes severe pain.
    You don't have that problem?
I'm not sure if the meaning is conveyed well because I use a translator.

As I said and explain in the video, it's not waterproof all the way up. As the tongue is not stitched all the way up to the upper. Thats the case in almost every hiker i've had and it's not a problem for me. I have been walking in these for 3 weeks now and don't have any problems with pain. I tend to have the upper part loose in every hiker as I dont need it for support. Let's see when I test it further

@@cMurder2osixthey sell it as black. It's more like dark grey in real life.
