Yeah she literally is still alive technically even though you kill her if you don't save she imdealtly come back at lv 20 she actually has karma as well if chara was fully powered undyne the undying would of been the one to do that so it is kinda weird undying was so powerful but lost do to chara temporarily killing her with the void thus she still alive when chara killed her she didn't actually die she used hope to survive true power undyne the undying is the protector of earth's hopes and dreams

She is the hero fighting the ultimate evil come down to send everything into oblivion. She is the one doing the final sacrifice to save everything she cares for. One way or the other, this is Undyne's final fight for justice and courage.

@@2valid2villanous I’ve heard some people say that Megalovania is the player’s theme. Consider that, even though it’s not used in game, “Song that might play when you fight Sans” exists. By contrast, Megalovania would have to be what Sans hears when he fights you.
@@jasendrileck2322 Sans has the mindset of someone under geared fighting the final boss of a videogame, the attitude of "eh, there's no point in not trying" and his laid-back persona just doesn't need any music to back it, this is why Megalovania is Frisk's theme (also STMPWYFS is just the rare chance the player hears Sans' theme.

@@jasendrileck2322 Sans is also one of two characters--the other being Omega Flowey--that strike at you first. In the case of Omega Flowey though, you fight him in "his world", so Sans is the only regular character that attacks you first, reversing the roles of the usual fight. As such, perhaps Megalovania is YOUR battle theme, since in this case, YOU are the final boss.

I don't think it's a spear. During the fight it beams out of her eye and moves around looking like a focused beam of light, rather than a spear in her eye.

Chara doesn't have the power to do that. You need LOVE for that, and you can't garner LOVE without EXP. That's why Chara can't do anything apart from your body until you reach 20. Chara's a bit like Magikarp in that respect.

Undyne the Undying has the power and determination you have at the end of true pacifist route, but... unfortunately, some of her friends are already dead, and Sans is off doing who knows what. Thanks to you, THE PLAYER, she doesn't have as many friends to help her!
... Thanks to me, when I played, that is. ;w; Genocide route may have thrown me into a literal depression when I was done. Oh, I didn't beat it, I gave up after I lost a buncha times to Sans, then I was spoiled on exactly what would happen. THe thing that happens in Genocide route... I refuse to subject my game file to this.
+MrServantRider it's a good thing, too. The sans fight is designed to make you give up on trying. And just reset everything to undo what you've done. So I think you did the right thing. It's what Sans would've wanted.

UNDYNE IS FREAKIN #1 AND LET ME TELL YOU WHY, PUNK! She'll never stop trying to do the right thing no matter what. In UNDERTALE, DETERMINATION is an actual drug-thing that melts monsters. Undyne came up with her own friggin DT straight from her burning SOUL! She didn't even melt, until taking 22,000 damage from a human. She's a true heroine, and she NEVER gives up--she almost cheated death! Anyways...
Sans is lazy, but has a balanced sense of justice and judgement.
The plot twist in the pacifist route is neat, but Asriel is just a lil kid.
Toriel is a killer with kindness, she just wants what's best for those she loves, but is too nice and polite.

Toriel is a race traitor and an enabler for humans to fight monsters, and also a hypocrite, as her other option for asgore is the same thing that killed her son, and she wouldn't do the same thing. But asgore actually tries, and yes, he killed people of the same race that KILLED HIS SON. Think about his perspective. And not only that, but he did all this just to free his people again, while FULLY AWARE that his only wish, being with his family again, will never happen.😔

Eddie R. I realize this. Undertale by far is the saddest experience I have ever gone through (in a good way). But I think its just a little annoying when people judge others for not playing pacifist. I mean, come one, they are fictional, as you said.
I think the thing with the eye was supposed to be like a sort of lens flare, or a long-exposure after-image (where the light trails a visible "tail" through the air as it moves relative to the viewer).

So, I'm assuming this music plays if you actually fight Undyne rather than running? It sounds cool, but I've only played through True Pacifist, so there are some tracks that I haven't heard in the game yet.
It plays if you fight her on a Genocide run. Like that, you one-hit her, and she comes back with a bloody vengeance.
More specificly she does a heroic sacrifice by protecting Monster kid and then transforms into a bringer of death
