Darn! Missed the stream. Ah well :D Some awesome amps to model would be: 1. Knucklehead. Most definitely! 2. fuzzHugger fuzz pedals, that would be great. We need more fuzz in plugin land. 3. Bad Cat Lynx. Or the Lichtlerm Audio Prometheus. 4. Some IR's/speaker emulations of more obscure speakers. Seacow Cabps is kinda doing that lately getting some Fane and Weber speakers. Fave plugs of 2024: 1. Wavemind: Distant I just grabbed today, needed it after few mins of playing with the trial. Ecocide for the bass tones, Rev F is a great debut. 2. ML Drums. Last two albums of mine are using ML Drums and it works. Natural but polished drums. 3. Mercurial Ampbox (all the modules). They continue to kick ass. 4. NamU, although that kinda feels like redundant. Still, it's helped me get more comfortable with NAM captures etc. Some honorable mentions are Kazrog, Audiority and STL AmpHub. Also the Aurora DSP stuff ,has been pretty good. Still gotta try out the Digbeth. Some really cool stuf unrelated to sims from Audiothing came out in '24, as well as REAPER itself got some nice updates. Best daw in the world. (also it's not free haha) cheers!
Also, something I forgot from my prev comment: A power amp only sim. All tube types, a impedance curve selector for some of the most common speakers and loads. It's not a very practical thing with real gear, but having a cranked Soldano preamp into a little EL84 PA under max load would be super cool! Virtual gear, many choices you can't get with physical form. There's a few decent power amp sims out there, but they're all kinda lacking in some ways. Would love to see someone tackle this in a modern way with all the options we need, none of the stuff we don't need.
The Ignite TPA-1 still holds up in this area for the moment. I agree something like this would rock but the problem is, people that want to build signal chains are becoming more scarce.
Agreed. I can see why more people are going to one-plugin setups for guit, the new sim packages are incredible and full of great features. Still I love TPA-1 is amazing. cheers man!
