    Beautiful stuff on both sides. That armor push into a defense in depth from Saint with the oppressive amounts of mortars to deny movement, keep suppression up and easy lowered cohesion ON TOP of getting a CV putting his prepared infantry + AA troops up to Vet3 was absurdly good. That appears to be a vibe and viable as all hell as this is top level play.

    I know you said on stream about how the next 2 games end up, but I'd still love to see your battles whether you win or lose. Your strategies, tactics and commentary are all just 11/10 for me

      Exageration aside. Looking forward to them. Also, pretty sure KRUG's only ever one-shot planes (when they hit, which is worse than most AA)...

    See!! Saint doing work with HUEG with Arty in a top level game. It's crazy underrated so it seems, they had no counterplay aside from massing enough to breakthrough.. which allows more mortar devastation.

      I think artillery is severely underrated in this game because people don't understand how much dispersion is affected by range, lots of players (especially 10v10 artyspammers) fire them from far behind the line at close to their max range and just waste massive amounts of supply while barely hitting anything, those mortars were able to do so much damage because they were up right behind the front.
      The blast radius of the French 120 is 84m while their dispersion is about 70m at minimum range (1202m!) and it can be halved by corrected shot (just have a recon unit anywhere within 2km of the target), if you bring them in very close, they will never miss. But their dispersion at their max range of 5625m is 406m, it's highly likely that shells are not going to land within 84m if you use them at that distance. And the 120 is a relatively heavy mortar, 81mm mortars require even more precision. Helo rockets have the same thing going on with their dispersion being huge at maximum range guaranteeing that most shots miss unless you bring them closer.

      @@xeroprotagonist I agree, their role needs to be much closer to your engagements. That puts them at risk.. but it also makes AA bait if you're playing smart. I think the cohesion loss and denial of movement is huge on its own. I think Saint is on the money, as you put them into prepared positions behind infantry and near/around armor protecting the sides while you just get cranking.
      I too think it's underrated, but I don't play the game... So I wouldn't know exactly but I did know the dispersion factor.. so you need them a lot closer, as easy as it would be for resupply to keep them near the edge of your deployment zones.. it's just not efficient or effective. I think it was only 3 of 4 120mm mortars that were absolutely POUNDING that blob of TWO PLAYERS worth of units at times, and Icky mentioned "I think he's actually got this on his" and allowed him to smash the left side and eventually hit straight up the middle as well.
      Wish I could've seen Saint's K/D sheet for those Mortars and the infantry put in front of them.
      This is probably going to be meta af for 2v2 as it can more dicey in 1v1, but I bet still possible as you can do a similar thing to hold what should be a hard push, while exploitation forces go smash another CP.
      Loved this as I've been hoping for Arty putting in work as it's fundamental to maneuver warfare IRL and then being seen as relatively irrelevant in 1v1 is sad..
